  1. Thanks radioman1490! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

I went to my local put a part yard and found a "like new" tool in a 1993 Park Avenue but the little nub doesn’t match up with the ones that I have on my Park Ave. I might just try the Dealer or continue to check out the pull a part yard as they get others in to see if I can find one that is white or just find a whole new set with a matching tool.<o:p></o:p>

    Thanks All!<o:p></o:p>

  2. Here are some pictures I just snapped...Since it is Easter Sunday the shop is closed and the doors were locked so I tried to take some pictures of the interior through the window, if you can't tell the leather is in very very good condition and the doors even still have the clips on each side of the door pull strap... also see how the rear window seals are in next to new condition. I just hate to see this Reatta sitting in the sun day after day now.....

  3. Padgett: I was inside the car a few days ago and tried the key but the battery was dead…. The interior is very nice…. The mechanic that is now selling the car (his late uncle's… I believe his mom’s brother) said the Reatta was running perfectly... I checked out the motor and is was spotless yet as you said I could not turn it over to check out the screen and the ABS etc. I said I would come back after he recharged the battery but I haven’t made it back yet. I will go now and see if I can't take a few pictures and post back.

  4. Well; Since there has not been any response on the 88 Reatta question.., the asking price was $4800.00 but from what I could determine…negotiable.... anyone interested? The right thing to do is it make all the kind Reatta folks here aware of what I consider a "great find", I was very seriously considering it myself but decided to wait for that 1989 or 1991 cherry red somewhere out there one day.

PM me and I can send you the phone number of the owner (I don’t think it would be wise to post it public), sorry I did not take any pictures while I was there, I can later today if the rains lets up or on Saturday but it is in VERY good condition in your interested, just been sitting for a while with the before mentioned observations...

  5. Anyone have Any idea what shipping to the right side of our fair country would run? I'm very interested.

The last time I shipped a Reatta from CA to NC was about 9 years ago or more using DAS it was somewhere around $550.00 or so.... with the gas prices today I am sure it would be a bit higher but with the history behind the car, it may be worth while..

    Good Luck.

  6. Reminds me of when George Castanza bought "John Voights" car

    HA! LOL!! That’s exactly what I was thinking as I was reading this thread. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

  7. Hey Reatta folks: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

    <o:p></o:p>

I have come across a 1988 Reatta with 59,000mi one owner. Has the smaller Reatta emblem on the hood, VERY clean motor, has the larger color sunburst on the horn built 7/1988 all numbers match and no accidents. I have been looking for a very nice condition 89 or a 91 but just came across this 88 which I was not considering BUT…..<o:p></o:p>

    <o:p></o:p>

The Reatta has been well taken care of until the previous owner passed and has been outside for the previous 2 years about.... Needs WAX BAD, but the paint is currently in good condition but without major quick help will be shot in a few months and the rear pinstripe is beginning to wear off, the seals around the windows and doors are all fine with NO sun damage yet... the head liner is beginning to fall, the rear light shield needs to be plastic polished, the battery is dead so I could not start it up... will try again this week, the clear coat on the rims are peeling, the instrument cluster seems loose ( how would I tighten it?) no 16 way power seats, all the electric buttons for glove box / trunk / gas/headlights seem to work, the headlights need to be rebuilt for sure and tires are dryrottted, rear trunk keyhole is coming apart, original floor mats in very nice condition, leather is in very nice condition, NO moon roof.....what would be a fair price?.... I believe the current price is too high but wonder what the general consensus is here so not to insult the current owner and still be fare ( I will let ya’ll know what I was quoted after a few responses).<o:p></o:p>

    <o:p> </o:p>

    <o:p> </o:p>

    Thanks All.

  8. No problem! I was a little down about being the only Reatta at the whole Auto Fair (that I've seen thus far), but seeing the Landau in person certainly remidied those lonely feelings. It made my day! :D

NCREATTA: The family and I didn't get to the speedway until later in the day on Sunday but were glad to catch a glimpse of your VERY nice looking Reatta convertible with the grey interior as you drove out of the speedway.... we tried to catch a close up view until you pulled into the parking lot off to the right on B.S. Blvd. Hope to catch you in the Fall if you attend, we really appreciate the pictures you have posted on the Landau, awesome. :-)

  9. Thanks Ya'll for the positive comments and $$ offers.

I have put about 180 miles on the Park Avenue since I received it and and not a hiccup yet except for the rear window behind the drivers side not working.

I have been looking for a set of chrome window vents/ deflectors but have yet to find any online or on Ebay. I have found the smoke plastic ones that need to be attached with 3M tape but I think the chrome ones would look nicer and match the rest of the chrome on the Buick too. Anyone have a heads up on where to find a set?

    Thanks,

I drove a 2011 last week with the new turbo charge with an invitation from Buick that I received in the mail +$50.00 and .... YES! Take a test drive and you will not have any question about "maybe". I will tell you that the TV/computer screen takes some getting used to but the "joystick" that is on the center console can control everything in the car once you get used to it. The acceleration off the line is very fast although I did not time it I got up from 0-80 in a few seconds, it does NOT feel like any 4 cylinder that you have every driven before. One +/- is that the car is front wheel drive don’t know what your preference would be on that if any but the Regal definitely is worth your attention. DRIVE ONE!<o:p></o:p>

  11. OK ALL: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Here are a few first pictures of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">1991 Park Avenue</st1:address></st1:Street> that I recently acquired. There is ZERO rust in/out or underneath and 100% zero wear on the window moldings etc; in fact the interior still has that "new car" smell. I am currently in the process of replacing ALL fluids and will be getting a new set of tires since everything is original equipment. Enjoy: <o:p></o:p>

  12. Thanks, I just spoke with the seller and he mentioned that he experienced the same situation with the latch before not locking into position for the pull down. His solution was to keep knocking on the back of the metal latch and then it would work and the latch would lock into position....... well as simple as it sounds that was all it took? boy I feel slow. There must be an inside spring that is getting stuck or something that is not allowing the latch to lock into position, I will spray it with some WD40 as see if it happens again. Since it has happened before it might be worth finding a new latch to avoid this happening somewhere else in the rain or something and the knocking not working.

    Thanks again.

Depending on the weather this weekend I will see about cleaning the Buick up and snaping a few pictures, if not this weekend maybe next.
