  1. I think most all of us on the forum have been positivly affected by our Canadian friend Easily Distracted. Thank you for your kindness and expertise Robert.......
  2. Robert,<BR> Very nice, informative/educational.<BR> Thanks !
  3. Robert,<BR>For the sake of argument, isn't 303 a protectorant for ultraviolet rays? What could be used to preserve the rubber against age/dryrot/compression or use-especially unexposed. Then use 303 on top of that treatment to any exposed weatherstrip surfaces for the sun. Not trying to cause any trouble - just interested/curious.......
  4. Robert,<BR>Absolutely great idea, however probably run into corporate politics (Vintage Parts). Best route would to be to convince Barney Eaton that he or another club official should contact their contacts at GM or GM/Buick Customer Relations.......
  5. Indy, thanks for info. It appears that Indy, E.D., Wally, Hicamper, and myself (I ordered one Tuesday)were fortunate and several (up to eight) were not - I wonder why? Does someone out there actually have eight Reattas with defective/torn up weatherstrips OR ???????
  6. Contact Jim Finn at: jfinn@cpinternet.com <BR>If that address doesn't work check the "search" function with his name-upper right hand corner of this forum page.<P>Also it would be advantageous to everyone if you would register....................<p>[ 08-07-2002: Message edited by: Nic Walker ]
  7. Petrol makes an amazing difference - I was on the 3rd increment - many thanks for input.......
  8. Little car must be starved for attention - was neglected by its previous owner I guess -it keeps acting up and I keep feeding it new parts. At any rate, 100 today (hot for Richmond) and early it developed an irratic whiring type noise in the rear and hasn't stopped (11:00) yet. Only thing I can think is the fuel pump - anyone have any ideas? Should I get tow insurance?
  9. Chris,<BR> I've have tried to call-no answer on either number - email me at: jnicwalker@aol.com<BR> ASAP<P>thx, Nic
  10. I was pestering Barney Eaton the other night and he suggested this vinyl dressing. As per his direction I found it at a marine store - 16 oz = $12.99. Web site is <A HREF="http://www.303-products.com" TARGET=_blank>www.303-products.com</A> for good products, testimonials, and retailers. Stuff sounds/reads GREEEEAT!
  11. Jerry,<BR> Many thanks for pics-very interesting!<BR>The car cover company that Mr. Eaton represents makes some sort of cover along this line for other makes-not Reatta-this looks nice/professional-is it possibly factory/manufacturer tag on it?<BR>Nic
  12. Is it ok to use these performance plugs with standard a/c delco wires and standard ignition components??<P>Also, anyone have a cure for flaking/missing chrome appearence strips that encircle or surround the gearshift assy, glove box, dash, etc. I bought some Krylon Spray chrome paint to use with a very small touch up brush, but chrome appearence it is not-more like silver paint???????
  13. I have been watching the car-gentleman here in Richmond had wanted it at one time-wish it could have found its way here, but CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!
  14. I'm in Richmond, Va and the largest wrecking yard (Bruce Auto Parts) in the area gets $20.00 for a Cadillac remote which can be programed (per the forum) to work..........

    Brake relays

90 coupe.<BR>I read somewhere to replace brake relays on firewall just because. One of my two had a broken slide mount and had fallen down so I bought a couple from Advance-I had to use the reference #125 off of Reatta.net in order to cross reference to there brand (GP SORENSEN). The relays are exactly the same as the Bosch taken off with the exception of the slide mount is to big on the new relay and won't stay on firewall. Any suggestions please???<P>The new relays have a bracket (slide type bracket like oem but bigger-universal/ removeable) with a hole that will accept a self drilling screw - if that is the only way to mount? OK to drill in firewall somewhere close to old mount location????<P>[ 07-22-2002: Message edited by: Nic Walker ]<p>[ 07-22-2002: Message edited by: Nic Walker ]

    Brake relays

Excellent Robert. Won't work for me however - As stated above, I knew for sure that the slide mount on one old relay was broken, and just went out and checked the other - was on firewall but the slide mount on that one is cracked. Oh well.........
  17. Would appreciate it if you could hold one for me please. Please post or email confirmation and particulars. Thx,<BR>Nic

  19. Thanks for the responses-greatly appreciated!<BR>OK-I think Buick Mike has hit the nail on the head with his idea/description of the "Green Gooey Stuff". I haven't continued with repairs - I got "hit" by several yellow jackets yesterday (sick), however I am still unsure exactly where to put the grease. I have only replaced the coil pack (six spade connectors under the coil pack and one gang plug to the coil pack, and engine is clean enough to eat off of)-is it possible for someone to give me a page number/figure/diagram # in the repair manual to point out where grease should be placed??????????
  20. Robert, thanks for concern - i am going to go by advance tomorrow and see if they have the grease. It is no trouble to pull off again. This "green stuff" is not like a grease-super stickey/nasty-the swamp thing would not claim it!<P>HOW CRITICAL IS THE TORQUE SPECS-I DON"T HAVE A AN INCH LB TORQUE WRENCH-DO I NEED TO BUY??<p>[ 07-15-2002: Message edited by: Nic Walker ]
  21. Thanks Robert. Went out and cleaned terminals and mating surfaces with lac thinner, installed (without green stuff-got to be nastiest stuff ever-none was supplied) - started and ran great/better than ever (was also coding 34 - replaced MAF sensor). Happy now.............
  22. In the middle of replacing coil pack per instructions in manual and instructions that came with the coil pack. Neither mentioned the green gooeey slimmey sticky substance that is in the cavity of the module and on the spade connections of the wiring to the coil pack. It can be cleaned with lac thinner if it is ok or does this mean I need the module????????????????????
  23. Years back I was the Warranty Administrator for a large dealer group and unless the rules have changed, Campaigns may have manufacturer restrictions on time and other particulars. Recalls have no restrictions.
  24. Robert,<P> Good work as always - Thanks!
