  1. Earlier there was a post similar to yours, and one of the comments was to add a 1/4 oz of marvel mystery oil to every gallon of gas , this helps to slow done the boiling point and conversly the evaporation of the fuel in the bowl. I haven't tried it but it can't hurt. My 50 starts a little hard after it's been off for a while, but always starts with tha pedal to the floor. Jim, hope to see you in Kokomo with your 46s.
  2. Another one around Flint, listed in the west MI chapter classifieds. Contact Jack Mc Carthey 810-664-3401. Don't know if it's still available, but a call should answer if it is or not.
  3. Wisdom, always wisdom from the Old Guy, always nice to hear the voice of reason. Don I hope you sell your 55 soon to someone who will enjoy the fruits of your labor.
  4. I use shock absorber oil that i bought at Carquest, also called jack oil. Yes it is thin, but you don't need a heavy oil in thare.
  5. More than likely the water pump is bad. The seal is going bad, when it's cold it will leak, as the motor warms up so does the seal, and the leak slows or stops. If you can get under the car, shine a light up on the bottom of the waterpump, there's a weep hole where the fluid usally leaks out. Sometimes on the V-6 engine the front motor case will corode and leak antifreeze also. Happy hunting
  6. Congratulations James, on a search well done. Hope all works well and aaany further searches goes easier. Sleep tight and dream of a nice spring day and that first ride.
  7. Pete, where are you located at and is the car there also?

  17. On my 1950 Buick model 46D I have a hand hood latch opener that I use in the porthole. I've seen other 50 Buicks with hood pull cables in the drivers compartment. What is the difference? Is it a mid year change or what? I've seen the pulls on all models of 50's.

If yoy are looking for a parts car for this one I know where one is located, but you have to take two 50 Buicks. Good luck and offer him $ 1500.00 and see if he takes it.
