  3. Need right rear wheel opening for Wildcat/Lesabre convert (2 door will also fit). Thank you.
  4. Hi-I need 2 pieces of trim....passenger side rear wheel opening and driver side short piece behind the front wheel. Do you have these? Thanks.
  5. HI- Does the 65 wildcat have a rear power antenna?
  6. Free for pickup in San Diego area. Front seat from 65 Wildcat Convert. Needs to be recovered. email marc.glassoff@navy.mil
  7. Hi All--Have an original front manual bench seat from my 65 Wildcat Convert..good shape, black vinyl, needs recovering. Taking up too much space so come get it for $20. Am in north San Diego County. Email to: marc.glassoff@navy.mil
  8. Rocketraider-you are a prince. Got the schematic and so far I did get the motor to run. Looks like I'm missing a short piece of harness that's probably still in the original car that connects the switch to the solenoid/motor assembly, so I'll do some wiring. Thanks a ton!
  9. Hi-Just obtained a 6 way power seat from a 65 Wildcat to go into my 65 that has a manual bench. Trying to figure out the wiring and seems to be lots more wires in the harness than necessary. Anyone have any info or wiring diagram to show how to hook up or bypass all the switches to just get the motor to run? Thanks in advance.
  10. Looks to me like Classic Buick is still in biz. At least the website is still up. www.classicbuicks.com
  11. Re the timing chain--Do you have the famous original nylon coated chain? I did in my 65 and when I dropped the oil pan, I found half of it in pieces in a mound of sludge. Over all this time, they just break off the chain. Although the engine was running OK, when I pulled the cover, the chain was real sloppy and just waiting to jump. Another $.02.
  12. Hi Jerry--My 65 401 timing spec is around 5 degrees. Were the earlier ones like yours that different? Maybe thats the problem.
  13. Too bad it's not a 2 door which has the preferred sleek styling. But if it's mint and you like it, grab it. If you don't want it, tell me where it is so I can use lots of its mint parts on my 65 Convert. Or maybe I'll drive it around myself. Thanks
  14. Hi Tom-<BR>Had the same situation on my 65 Wildcat 401. The seasoned pros said to loosen the motor mounts and trans mount and jack up the front of the engine to remove the pan. I used a piece of 2x4 on edge between the jack and the engine. Worked like a charm..think yours is probably the same. Good luck.
  15. My love affair goes back to August 64 when my brother and I were college age and Mom was going to get a NEW car and no we weren't rich either. We generally had F**ds although a Corvair and Tempest passed thru previously. For some reason we lobbied for a Buick, not a Chev or Olds. Why--no reason other than we just liked it. Was ordered in the summer, arrived in Sept and guess what..the new one (65 Lesabre 2 Dr. with everything except power seats) looked different. The styling changed, but it was even BETTER than the 64 and it was FAST. The car went away when I was away at school and Mom re-married (didn't last)..I was heartbroken (about the car)..in 1970 I had a 66 Riviera..but wasn't attached to it. For the last 10 years I've eyeballed Lesabres waiting for the right time to be able to have one. Two years ago spotted a 65 Wildcat Convert that needed TLC and wifey insisted I get it for my birthday..really. The styling, the dash, the guts of the 401---it all sets my heart a-flutter. But of course when I'm behind the wheel I'm also back in college.
