  10. I agree with Jack from Florida, I worked as a kid at a Cadillac-Olds dealership in the paint shop for a few years, We used Acrylic laquer on most things, sometime old Duco we had laying around , I'm sold on these paints and will use nothing else , this new paints are hard to work with and look fake, plus they are more of a hazard to ones health.. 12. Hi, Spencer here , I have worked on several vacuum tanks and one just last month..take it apart and clean it good ,dirt ,rust etc., check flapper valve at bottom of inside tank ,make sure is free to move and has a clean seat, next look at the two springs at the top ( not broken )then check to see if the two valves are closing good , you can take some polishing compond and put on these valve seats and rotate the the small valve pins with your fingers to clean up the seats ( clean off all compound ),check the float to see if it is in good shape ( no holes ) cut out a new gasket (one) for the top ( no gasket under inter tank )and clean the small side vent hole to the side top of tank, the gasket fit has to be air tight (but not perfect) assemble tank and remount , check suction line to intake manifold and gas line to carburetor ..tank has to be be higher than carb. as it is gravty flow..a small square nut on top is to prime the tank, put about one pint of gas in and check carb to see if is flowing OK ..hook up all pipe fittings to top of tank, should be two with one overflow pipe, one gas line at the bottom to carb.and, open petcock..vacuum line to manifild must be tight to get the suction when engine is running , tank only works every two to five minutes or when the float drops down in the tank..these tanks work well with no problems..Spencer Carl, Bishop ,Ca.
