1. I celebrate the day before, and go get a groundhog drunk, so he can't even find his door the day of the ground hog, let alone his shadow, then substitute welding goggles for his ray bans, and set his alarm for the day after grounds hogged day is over. What I do for President's day is even better, but I am still under investigation for the party last year, and I swear I never even invited her.
RS
 2. I just located an unrestored 1923 Cadillac tourer,...but the picture was so awful, and the price was so high (ridiculously!!) that I doubt we can contact the owner for a beneficial comment. When someone starts off at a restored car price for a completely rusty bucket,... there are problems. However, I do think it was the most similar I have seen. I did make an offer on the car,..and when he turns me down,..I will provide him with your e-mail, so you can make a mint on him. He needs these parts, from what I saw,..and MANY more! Mostly,..he needs some sense.
RS
 3. No, Cadillac made no trucks,..it SHOULD be a wide hood, as this car was a V-8
rs
 4. That is a beautiful car,.... E-mail me when you price it.
RS
 5. so what are you asking for these? It's similar to a model 59 Cadillac, but not exact, maybe a model 61-63 from '21-'24 .. try the 1918 at "countryclassiccars.com"
RS
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-29-2001).]
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-29-2001).]
 6. Wire, unknown make, will forward spoke number when I get it,..25" (?) will know later. Was having fits with my computer earlier, hence the sparse info.
RS
 7. Need set of these, and miscellaneous for a 1916 Milburn. Please E-mail any info you have on a source of original, or , if know price Coker charges to make them. Wire, unknown make, will have number of spokes soon,..
RS
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-28-2001).]

 10. Care to drop in a price or some pictures?
RS
 11. Am also looking, and for straw "boater" hat, as well. I know they are still made and sold in England, but found no good source for them.
RS
 12. As I said, this is a valuable resource,..and I foresee it will be far more important in the future,..by the way, that is not a prediction, it is a certainty,..so don't quote me! We just need to get to work,..ALL of us, in making sure people are aware of it, and get in here and communicate. If we maintain that, and a certain level of absurdity, the use and importance of the forum will grow. I vote that we tar and feather Howard for even saying the word "businesslike," we only talk about serious stuff! Howard, get out your Ivory soap and a toothbrush! Such language!!!
RS
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-24-2001).]
 13. Somebody needs to invent a politician that explodes on contact with greedy businessowners. It might be messy, but it will kill two birds with one stone. More "bang" for the buck.
 14. Humor,...I would never do that. But then, I had my personality surgically removed at age 30, so I may not count.
RS
 15. A deuce-and-a-quarter with 100K miles,..for $1200,..... and owned by a tobacco company.......
 16. I'm a blacksmith, and I can make darn near anything,.... I don't advertise that fact, though,.... because I may not want to make things for just anybody.
RS
 17. Oh,..and outlawing tornadoes inside of city limits......
RS
 18. The question is pretty deep,....ideally, no. From the standpoint of would it help? I dunno,..would that be what it takes to get people to listen? The forums are kinda like an answering machine, in that they can be screened for what you want to hear, or picked apart for what you need to hear, or just used to support what you'd like to hear.
As long as people put out and present good information, and the ideas and thoughts keep coming, yes, it may be a means of allowing the forum to become a useful part,...but don't we have a very useful mouthpiece in PeterG, and, at least for now, Ron? Who has to deal with the nonsense, as well as the good information but them? Does this give them any more power to accomplish things? I doubt it. Makes them more aware of what is going on, maybe,..makes them more open to frustration and open to getting dumped on.
I think it would depend upon how the forum becomes useful to everyone, from headquarters to regional to the members themselves. If WE (the people who use it) make it a good source of information, it will remain invaluable as a tool, and it can always be counted on for information. If it is formalized, into an "ear" for the boards,... how will anyone guarantee it projects the true needs, and feelings of us all? Let's face it,..it can be argued that it is the same people, over and over, who are on here,..personally,..I know that is bunk,... I get enough E-mail now from people to prove to me they are listening,... some from people who feel that they have nothing to say,..and some who are just encouraging people to get up and say what needs to be said.
An advisory panel,...I think it is a good idea, but I also think the forums need to grow up a bit, and become a more important part of the club, first. How? Give it time,..let's see what happens. Maybe someone will start publishing articles on here, who knows. Let's wait to see if the forums become a voice for everyone,.... it can be.
How do we know when it is time? Well,... when people start depending on the forums for information, it will be a start, and when it begins to be used for a means to spread information, it will become a foundation, and when it becomes a necessity,...it will be time to get a panel.
Robert Swim
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-24-2001).]
 19. Yeah, the overflowing carb is just what I wanted to know,...and I know,..there are a lot of wild stories out there. I just wish I could follow up on all of them. Have found a couple of touring pictures,..just can't locate a Suburban model at all,...
RS
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-23-2001).]
 20. And here I was, trying to prove my theory that the dinosaurs had developed Hula Hoops and lost so much weight they evolved into birds! Ten years, wasted,..and all due to gas! I swear,.....So, I take it no one will be anxious to hear about the theory of reversing the earths' rotation to reverse time? Training fish to do laundry? Darn,.....
RS
 21. And in 1910, a Cole was the first car presented to a president, Taft, as his official vehicle.
Try Cruise-in, it's an Indiana car history website.
RS
 22. Contact the Cole Automobile Club through Leroy Cole (Cole automotive car club)
Cole was from Indianapolis, 1909-1925 large, powerful cars, came out in 1915 with a V-8, and there are about 70 known today. There was a great history of the Cole written as a dissertation in the early 70's, I need to look it up,..have it someplace. in 1999, a Cole, one of the originals owned by the family (Joseph J. Cole was the founder) came in third in the "Great Race." Cole came about as a buyout of the Black Carriage Company by JJ Cole who decided to build automobiles. It was an assembled car, made up of components such as the Northway engine, Firestone wheels, mostly a high priced auto, which participated in a lot of racing, hill climbs, and other compettitions. It was among the first cars to use balloon tires, in 1923, and was popular as a rum runner's car due to it's powerful engine and large size.
Am always looking for Cole cars, parts and literature,....especially for a certain 1919 Cole Limousine.
RS
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-22-2001).]
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-22-2001).]
[This message has been edited by IndianaCarGuy (edited 01-22-2001).]
 23. If it comes to that, I am keeping my old car and just going to have to learn to live without using a new one, ever again. It'll be hard,..but sacrifices are sometimes the only way to undercut authority.
RS
 24. That's an idea. actually have people represent regions,... the closest thing to me is in Dallas, 4 hours away, but then, I think I need to move to be closer to what is happening,... it isn't happening here. Aside from Rosanky, I am in the "museum and antique car desert."
RS
 25. The best way to lose sight of the future,..is to ignore the past. I am proud to be part of an organization which spends so much time relishing the past, and at the same time,...valuing the future.
RS
