Are all of the parts there? What is the condition of the body wood, chassis, engine, transmission, axles, etc? Have you got a model/serial number?
Yes Gary most all or all the parts are there. Very little rust on the whole car except minor rust on rear panel , left lower cowl , and the water trough around the rumble seat opening has pin holes. Wood is good except at the rear panel and behind the drivers seat upper tack strip. Yes it is a president and I have the history and serial numbers going back 50 years. Call me for details if interested. 574 22 nine 2six 22.

We bought a bunch of parts in a estate sale and these seven v8 Stude blocks were among the stash. I am a pre war guy and don't know if these have any value to anyone. If we don't finish cleaning out the building in a couple months they will be scrapped. There are also 7 straight 8 blocks and cranks, a big 6 from the 20s and 41 champ motor complete and a commander 6 engine. Also a lot of 30 31 commander stuff. Some 31 president and 41 president and champion. Contact me if you need any of this.

I did a search on these moldings about a month ago. Trying to find out what happened to l&l trim. I found the father died, one of the sons took it over. Then I found where they sued each other and finally a auction about a year ago selling the fathers estate. I haven't tried contacting the sons directly yet. I will be needing 2 sets of 32 moldings also.

Hi Peter
Yes in 34 the mains were inserts, but the shells are the thick style. In 35 the mains and rods were the modern type thin wall inserts. It does not make much difference because both type are impossible to find. It is hard to tell by the posted photos, but I think I can see the cylinder jugs under the water distribution plate. In 35 up the block was flat there. If it is a 35 with the aluminum head you got a good find.

There are 2 different 8 cylinder motors for 1934. Very little difference.though. One for president and one for commander. The rod and main bearings were babbit in 1934. Inserts didn't start until 35. I called on the motor and was told 1500 to 2000. I asked him to check if the head was aluminum and call back. Never heard back.

Scott, do you have any like the one on the right that have 9/16-18 threads left hand?
Thanks, Rex

They will say only one side available, but the other one is the number next to it.
-
You know they can be bought at napa.
-
Not unless you have a lot of time to waste.

If you supply the serial number, Dick Quinn can narrow it down to the week it was produced.
-
I bought that motor many years earlier and saved it, knowing someday the new owner would want it when the car was restored.
-
On the 1931 presidents they started adding a vacuum advance in the last month of production and did not remove the manual advance. And did the same for 32 and 33. So I would guess they did the same for the six.

I just traded one to a club member last week. Didn't think there was much of a market for them.
