  1. Thank you all for your helpfulness in getting my '24 Buick running again. I will be keep you all posted with my progress and will certainly have more issues to ask about in the future.
  2. Last month I tried starting my 1924 Buick and could not get any spark. I pulled the distributor cap and noticed the metal clip on top of the rotor had broken off. The rivet was worn out and let go. I tried repairing it by screwing it back on with no success. Does anyone know a good source for this part? Would it be interchangeable with any other automotive rotor? The picture show my rotor after attempting to screw the contact clip back onto the rotor body. Still no spark. Any ideas?

  4. Great news! The engines are spoken for. Another of my outside options came through. A local collector mechanic is picking them up and will take over their storage. They may be available from him at a later time.
  5. I am very pleased that there is some interest in the engines and parts. Hopefully the '36? Chrysler and 1930 Oldmobile engines can also find a good home before the scrap guys come back. Please check out my posts in those forums if you or anyone you know might be interested in those free engines and parts. Thank you again Jolly_John for helping me get started on this forum.
  6. I have corrected the post which now states there is a 1924 Buick engine along with a 1925 engine. My dad had these because apparently both would fit into the 1924 Buick that he had and I now own.
  7. Thank you for that correction, I really appreciate it. I will correct my post.
  8. I helped my dad work on his old cars for many years but now my next project is getting some of his 1924 Buick parts to other caretakers. All at no charge. We have 1924 and 1925 Buick engines along with transmissions, rear ends, etc. Yes, everything is free, but time is of the essence. We need to cleanup the old farmstead within the next two weeks. Sorry, no shipping, only pickup by appointment in central WI. Obviously, the local scrapper is more than willing to haul these parts away, but that is not our first choice. Again, everything is free for pickup but don't delay. We've only got two weeks. Of course, please PM me with any questions. My thanks, Karl
  9. Thanks John. Yeah, I am doing my best to get more pictures uploaded with engine views and serial numbers.
