  1. Thank you all for your replies. I opted for leaving it raw castings as you said Matt, and put some clear coat on it.
  2. Hi all, I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the fuel pump of my 1947 Buick roadmaster, and thought may as well also repaint it since I have it off. In what colours was it traditionally done? I've seen 2 versions online- on Bob's Automobilia and 1 other place, pictures show the top cover and bottom fuel bowl painted black, and the rest metallic. But then I've also seen it simply all painted a metallic colour. And on a side, how many blades did the fans have? Thank you.
  3. Thank you 61polara for your reply. By cardboard panels on side and back, did you mean like the ones in this photo here? (This is of a 1947 buick special) James
  4. Hi folks, First time posting here. A year or so ago I purchased my first classic car, a 1947 Buick roadmaster sedan, and am attempting to restore a few things to the original-style. One thing I'm struggling to find much info about is the trunk.. What colour & paint were the trunks typically painted with? Did they use splatter paints as seen in some 50s or 60s GM models, and/or were they covered in fabric? Lastly, the upholstery inside the car is a deep green velour, to go with the deep green car colour... but I suspect this isn't what was used. From what I've read, they often had a bedford cord fabric of some sort, usually in grey. Pictures would be immensely helpful- if possible of course. Thank you all, James
  5. Hi Jon, Indeed, your work is most appreciated here.. it's one of those small things where resources are few. I came across a post of yours a few days back, linking to your website where you sold a few tools.. and was unable to find it again. Do you happen to have a T109-205 float gauge for the WCD by any chance? And, a bit of a stretch perhaps, but a T109-117S (Universal pump travel gauge)? Thanks,
