James_327
Hi folks, First time posting here. A year or so ago I purchased my first classic car, a 1947 Buick roadmaster sedan, and am attempting to restore a few things to the original-style. One thing I'm struggling to find much info about is the trunk.. What colour & paint were the trunks typically painted with? Did they use splatter paints as seen in some 50s or 60s GM models, and/or were they covered in fabric? Lastly, the upholstery inside the car is a deep green velour, to go with the deep green car colour... but I suspect this isn't what was used. From what I've read, they often had a bedford cord fabric of some sort, usually in grey. Pictures would be immensely helpful- if possible of course. Thank you all, James Edited December 8, 2022 by James_327 (see edit history)
61polara
The inside of the trunk was painted exterior body color with gray cardboard side and back panels.
James_327
Thank you 61polara for your reply. By cardboard panels on side and back, did you mean like the ones in this photo here? (This is of a 1947 buick special) James
