How do the WWs on the new Diamondback tires hold up? I put Hankook on one of the 72s last year and was dismayed at how brown they were and stayed after a lot of clean up. In fact, now staring at them for 60 seconds I am convinced they get browner before my very eyes. Meanwhile all the old rubber has nice, bright whitewalls...

Thanks guys, good information. I think we fixed it this weekend. I'm probably not explaining well, but I think it was bent out the wrong way and needed to be snapped back in to the clip. I do think the pin needs to be replaced and will check on that. I really appreciate the help everyone.

Hello, looking for some guidance. Trying to help someone who has a 99 Riv and the fuel door and assembly came off the car. Looks like the pin that attaches rusted through. I've already learned the hard way that some of the parts places online show the original part "available " but that is the default. It is discontinued. So far searching used parts is not coming up with anything available. Does that door interchange with any other models of Buick or Gm? Alternatively, any of you fellow part hoarders happen to have one or a parts car you are willing to part with? Looking at an old thread, seems as 98/99 was a different part number from earlier models of that generation. Thanks for any advise,

Not the weekend and not a long trip, but first outing with an "old" Buick in several years. Brought the 72 Riviera GS to the local chapter meeting this week. Tomorrow's project, hunt for a 72 T3 headlight to replace the fogged low beam. Still some work to do before the Des Moines concours.

Hello, I'm starting to set a few items aside for a vendors table in Kalamazoo. I'm planning to take a smaller Riv and wondering if there might be any interest in Buick color trim books and Buick Sales information books? They are heavy enough that if they are not a popular item I would rather not pack them. So for those of you who attend swap meets more frequently than I do, is there enough demand to make sense to bring? Thanks in advance

So when I went down to the pole barn with a tape measure the idea of backing it in for your space was also in mind. When you actually look though, the rear end has a faster rise because of the back windows, even on the 73. Because they are visibly higher, I did not bother measuring. Google a side profile photo for any of the boattail years and you will see what I mean. You may be able to wedge it in if your space is very narrow. Park in your larger space. Those cars are huge. Even I forget sometimes how long they are when not looking. Those Boattails are as long as my 1947 Lincoln.

Make it easy and park on the bigger side. I'm a believer in battery tenders which means an inch or two more height. Plus it is much more convenient to be able to open the hood as needed instead of having to jockey it back and forth constantly.

Wayne is pretty much spot on, I measured my 71, 72's and 73 Rivieras. 38 inches seemed to be the measurement for each. And all stock or mostly so. Wheels, tires, suspension could add some variables. 40 inches should keep you in good shape. You've got about 5 feet until the rise in the windshield. Those hoods are looooong. Hope this helps.

Agree with Bob, I have attached photos of a tag for a 72 GS Riviera in black and also a photo of the engine compartment so you can see some differences.

Trimacar, Here are some better photos of the damage. The biggest issue is I had it underinsured, having not updated the value since I bought it. I inherited a bunch of cars and have been focused on titling and insuring (and selling some of) those. Lesson learned. I had no idea the damage would come in at over 6k, but the person Hagerty sent to estimate the damage shared paint and bodywork has really increased this year, I guess like everything else. I thought maybe it was a thousand dollars. The brake fluid did etch into the paint. It was one of those midlevel collector cars. Too much money to bring back to #1, but too nice to be a daily driver or beater. I bought it to bring my elderly German shepherd to Buick functions in comfort and still feel good showing it. It served its purpose well. Time to downsize and focus on what I really want to keep. Zeke01, sorry, I had no idea what Copart charges. Hopefully not worse than ebay.

Not mine....but used to be! https://www.copart.com/lot/52851792/salvage-1985-buick-electra-estate-mn-minneapolis I turned this wagon into insurance a few weeks ago due to it being totaled out by Hagerty. However, the salvage title is due entirely to cosmetics. This wagon was stored under a lift and the master cylinder on the truck above leaked on this below. The stain on the roof and side was due to brake fluid. The fluid also got into the door and ate up the door seals. The amount I had it insured for was lower than the estimate to fix it. Mechanically this is a great vehicle and I agonized about keeping it and fixing it before giving it up. The buy back was too high to bother with it and I had way too many other vehicles to justify keeping this one too. I'm really hoping a Buick or wagon person might pick this up cheap and get it back out there. The mileage is accurate, it turned 100K in 2018. I just drove this to the Buick Nationals in Lisle in June. Driving it again made me realize how much I really liked it after not having it out the past few years. I hope someone can save this wagon. It was a sweetheart. And if you want more info I can share it. I have the history going back to 2017 when I bought it. I'm sure Copart is waiting for the title to come back from Minnesota to start the action, but someone could snag a great wagon. (just not me!)

Thank you John, if I had my pick I'd love a dark blue last generation Riv. But instead I need to make some decisions and get down to just one. Sounds like you have a really interesting combo. And its Ms. not Mr. 🙂 but a common thing to happen in the car world.

1999 Buick Riviera for sale. Maroon with grey leather interior. 71K miles. Has all the regular options including heated seats. Does not have a sunroof. A/C not working, everything else works great. Fantastic driving car, supercharged as all 99's were with great MPG. This was a daily driver, and well maintained. The previous owner purchased this car off of eBay in 2008 with under 4,000 miles. Cradle looks good. Since this was a daily driver there are chips and scratches, but you will have to be up next to the vehicle to see them. 1976 Cadillac Seville 4 door sedan for sale. Maroon, with maroon interior and vinyl top. 54K miles, based on the condition I believe this to be accurate. Power windows, doors, antenna work. Nice driving car. Been on the property since 2016, has not been driven much in last two years. From an estate, title is clear. Located outside of St Paul, Minnesota. Condition is nice, I'd rate at a solid 3, if not a two. Not perfect, but very nice. Great car to tour with. Had scratches when purchased in 2016 so it has been repainted. Asking $11,000.
