  1. I’d defer to the Buick studs on this forum but from what I understand the vent windows on all GM convertibles from 42 to 48 are the same.
  2. Hey, I just called Dougs number and he answered... it’s 7 PM in CA, this guy is still working in his shop in Ohio lol. He said he can help me! You guys rock, thank you! MCHinson, that car in your thumbnail is baddass man
  3. Thanks guys, I did get some info from a cool member who showed me years and models that fit, and when I talk to yards I start with “I’m looking for any 1942 to 1948 GM convertible right side vent window”. That same guy told me about Doug but I need the broken parts in hand. I have only the broken bottom, no other parts. Here’s a pic.
  4. Hi again, I’m grateful to have a group of professionals who’ve been at this antique car game for a long time and have run into my problems before. I am at my wits end on this damn ‘47 Buick Super passenger vent window frame. I have called yards from New York, to Oklahoma, Idaho, Tennessee, Montana, Philadelphia, etc. etc. since I got this car in July. I bought a 1950 vent window frame off eBay thinking I could message it in some how. (you all know how that turned out). I’m starting to come to the sinking feeling I’m not going to find an original. what do you concours guys do when you run into this problem??? And before you answer, I’m far from rich lol. What are my options here? Thank you for looking at this post.
  5. I bought this grill from a guy saying it was from a 1947 Buick super but this can’t be because when I got it the teeth are wider than my original grill teeth. My Buick Super is a 1947 convertible and the teeth are 1 inch wide. I want to post it and sell it but I want to make sure I am listing it as the correct thing. These are 1 1/4 inch wide. Can anyone tell me what Buick this grill is from and possibly what I should ask for pricing? Not sure if I over paid or not. Thank you
  6. I have a 47 Super convertible. That’s dope man, congrats!
  7. Hi, any chance I can get the passenger side vent window and frame?
  8. It is, the guy I bought the car from did that... I have to fix it. I wish he wouldn’t have.
  9. Thanks for this info. Nothing worse than spending antique parts money only to realize you messed up... You're the best!
  10. Hi everyone, I have a 47 Buick Convertible that I am trying to find skirts for. I found these but the description is “lacking”. Just says Buick skirts. I can see they are not 4 door, and the holes tell me they aren’t a Supers skirt due to 2 strips of stainless trim, but will they work for me? I can weld up the holes and make what I need if so. I'm really new to pre 1950 cars, so I’m learning on the fly here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  11. Hi guys, FYI while I was out hunting for my 47 Buick parts, I came across a pristine 1950 Buick front grill and bumper. It’s out here in Northern California. If anyone needs it.
  12. Dude... you’re a stud for this info! Can’t thank you enough, I’m printing this out and going to work. Thank you!
  13. Thanks for this man! I'll keep hunting. I heard the Buicks before the war and right after are basically the same since they only had the moulds from before Pearl Harbor... so that would make sense.
  14. I never had the piece that broke off... I feel sorta hopeless lol. I’ve been looking so I know you’re right about hard to find.
  15. Hi, when I bought my car the passenger side vent window frame was broken. Looking for replacement. I’ll buy the whole door if I have to. Please help. Thank you,
  16. Hi, I hope this is the correct place to ask this. I am trying to fix the rusted out torque boxes where the front body bolts down to frame, and I can see the floor pan, rocker panel, and other Sheetmetal were sandwiched in a certain order. But I have no clue what this is supposed to look like when completed. Does anyone know where I can find the info or have pictures of what a non rusted torque box should look like on a 46 through 48 Buick Super Eight? Thanks
  17. Now I know there is a Buick stud on this forum that has a parts car that wants to take the time to chop off a frame mount and spend the time shipping it to me For some measly cash that isn’t worth the time and effort, just because we are a couple of car guys! Lol! Who will it be??? Hahaha love you my brothers!
  18. My 1947 Buick super was in an accident at some point and one of the longer body mounts in the front right side was sheared off. I can fabricate something but I would really like to install an original mount. is anyone parting out an old Buick that I could snag one of these off of? thank you in advance!
  19. I tried to buy new hinges or rebuild kit for my 1947 Buick Super Convertible and struck out. Can anyone tell me what other car I can scavenge parts from that has replacement parts so I can pull this off? How is it that when I see your guys Buick’s at shows, the doors are PERFECT and click so nicely when they close? What’s the secret? Thank you!
  20. Update, I found the outside, “just” need inside now lol
  21. Any way I could pry a passenger side away from you? Or does it all have to stay together for overall car sale?
  22. Hi, I need the frame that holds the vent window glass on the passenger side. Please let me know. Thanks my fellow car people!
