Mine is simple: '57 Eldo Bairritz black with b/w interior, white top, everything but air ride, now most are in Europe it seems

I haven't tried that actually, but I will

Much like the Marlin and the first gen chargers, the windshield is just a little too steep and/or tall to smoothly pull off the sleek fastback behind it, it'd be weird but i'd almost rather see a '59 caddy windshield on that car, or at least something with that slope and height, then the fastback would make more sense, proportionally and otherwise, I think. It just doesn't flow as well as it could've. Oh and DEFINITELY no side molding or creases of any kind, aka: '61 birds. The original vision is usually the best..

Thanks fellas, i'm checking everything over, those are good places to start

Doesn’t matter if it’s pointed to on or off, took it all apart hoping a cleaning would suffice, nope, there’s really not much to it , it had a tiny divot on one the raised nubs on the triangular contact piece, used some 600 grit on it, put back together with diaelectric grease on the nubs, it worked one time then never again, options? Maybe something in the tumbler?

A flare nut, that's a new one for me, had to look it up, now I can see how that works, they look like old tiny bathroom gas heater plumbing parts. thanks old-tank !

I was going to use some dielectric but can’t find info on it

Ordered them from McMaster but they didn’t have the washers, for some reason I thought this would be much easier with the millions of carbs out there, oh well

What do those shims look like? I’m doing a carb rebuild, just pulled that switch and there were no shims at all

That's what I thought, my climate spring wasn't engaged, thanks for the info!

carbking, I bought the kit from CARs, looked at Bob's too and didn't see one with screws or I would've bought it, do you have a source for future information?
Also since you're here, what exactly holds the choke butterfly closed? the spring inside the climate control housing or some other?, looking at photos, my carb and the visible linkage looks like every other but I thought when properly set, the natural position for the choke was closed until heat opened it up, mine is open and snaps open when not closed by hand, maybe my climate spring wasn't ever engaged? or?

I ordered the kit from CARs yesterday, either way, i'll look into that electric option as I plan to drive the crap out of this
side note: who makes a really good line bending/flange tool?
And I appreciate the offer Fr. Buick!

'55 WCFB most of the old fillister top screws are buggered and a few are cross threaded, where can I buy new?
I've seen chevy stuff on the bay like Eckler's but not sure what I need as far as thread pitch and all that.

Check out the thread "Vacuum Line routing to choke" from two weeks ago in this same forum category, bought the kit from CARs, flared one end, bent the other end around so it slipped into that inside manifold nipple then simply bent it toward the choke, slid on provided insulation, screwed the brass nut on the choke threads, easy! had what appeared to be plumbers putty plugging up the hole, it dug out easily when I did the carb rebuild.
couldn't figure out how to gather the frayed insulation ends, thus the tape for now
