  1. The guy finally called me back so I'll go pick them up this afternoon. He said he'd take $20 apiece for them and it just so happened that I won $40 yesterday on a $5 dollar lottery ticket, what are the odds? Not sure what to do with them yet.Perhaps the larger one would make a cool table or just wall art. If anyone knows what they're from please let me know. Thanks, Greg.

  2. I live close to historic Cocoa Village in Florida and I noticed that one of the old buildings downtown has an old style Buick logo sculptured on the top front of the outside wall, not real noticeable. It must have been an old garage or dealership. It would be fun to find out. I also have a volume set from the 20's and one volume has garage plans if you wanted to borrow it. Greg.

  3. I'm really glad I found this forum because the cars for sale section is the first place I'll go to when I hit it big in the lottery. Either a large classic thirties car or a nice big brass touring car, what the heck, I'll get both! I even thought a steam car would be cool. Greg.

  4. I bought what I was told a British license plate for the front of my MGB.After researching it I found out it was a German plate. I'd be willing to trade it for a British one.Greg.

  5. I tried calling the guy since I live close buy but he wasn't taking anymore calls, his mailbox was filled up. I thought for $20. It would make good man cave art. Does anyone know what they might be for? The smaller one looked like it was off of some kind of roadster? Maby he'd take 20 for both. Greg.

  6. I saw in Orlando Craigslist under antiques car doors for $20, From 20's or 30's model cars,I thought the price was right so I thought I'd pass it on. Greg.

  7. Thanks for the response, sorry about of being specific but I meant roomier. My 74 is in the body shop now because I had a parking lot accident about a month ago. A woman was backing up the same time I was and we didn't see each other. My left rear tail light area got pushed in,a hard place to straighten out but its getting there. I'm also having braking issues with them locking up while driving so when I get it back I'll address that,I'll start by replacing brake hoses. Greg

  8. I was driving a tow truck in the mid 70's when I was sent to pick up a green Ford station wagon at a supermarket parking lot, the man said the keys would be in the ignition. When I got there I hooked up to a green Ford wagon with the keys in it but it was the wrong car! Luckily he got the name of the shop off of the truck. Boy was he mad.The next week a woman came back in with her Dodge Aspen, when I asked her "how's your ol Aspen?" She wasn't amused.

  9. My dad was a service manager for a Pontiac garage near Chicago in the fifties and he told me a man came in telling him that his car done been ribbrubbed! I never heard of that phrase before which meant being scraped down the side.He also said a woman came in and said her whistle don't blow! Horn? Some acronyms I learned, L.T.D.: long tailed dog. Electrack deuce and a quarter: Electra 225.

  10. A couple of these stories are true, but I'm not sure about the others. While watching the opening commercials at a movie theater a number of years ago they were advertising a Nissan 350z. My wife looked at me and said" what do they mean by 35 ounce?" There was a radio talk show recording of a woman complaining about the deer crossing signs being placed on rural roads and suggested installing them closer to the city crosswalks to cut down on the road kill casualties. After car manufactures moved the headlight dimmer switch from the floor to the steering column there were a number of cases of women getting their foot stuck in the steering wheel. Last week while out in my garage my next door elderly lady came over and said all four of her turn signals were flashing and she didn't know why and was afraid it would drain her battery. She somehow pushed the emergency flashers on. I'll admitted it took me awhile to find the switch. I'm sure there's a lot of other humorous car stories out there. Women, gotta love em!

  12. I was involved in a parking lot accident two days ago and so now I need a chrome rear bumper, left bumper over rider and left tail light assy. For my 74 mgb. Thanks. Greg in Florida.P.S. I have a new master cylinder for the same car that I can give towards parts.

  13. Hi,I live in central Fl. Near the east coast about 20 miles from Cocoa Beach, 10 minutes off of the I-95 exit. I don't have a camera right now but can try to get some pictures. Like I mentioned its white with chrome bumpers with mirrors located on the front fenders. A real nice black interior,no cracks in pillow front type dash, all gauges work weber carb. 69000 miles, great black top and comes with a full toneau cover as well, non wire wheels,no O.D. Thanks,Greg.

  14. I have a 35 Buick that was restored the first time in the mid 70 s and repainted a couple of times since that. I had small rust bubbles in various areas and wanted to get it taken care of. A local restoration shop said they'd do it for $30,000 ! But I found a man who's doing it in his garage for $2500. He's also taking it down to bare metal. Its been about a year now and he's working at his own pace mainly just on weekends but hey for the price, I can wait. I've seen some of his work and he is a perfectionist,so maybe this year. So far the fenders, grille shell, trunk lid and hood are off and body are down to bare metal and I've had some parts rechromed. Time is on my side. Greg.

  15. I know I've posted this before in another section.I have a nice 74 chromed bumper white MGB that I paid $6000 for about a year ago and would like to do an even trade for something a little bigger same vintage or older, just seeing what's out there. Thanks, Greg.
