Is that big steel plate on the frame normal? Looks like the high school medal shop class did it in the first week of school.

Delusional price ($40K!) and terrible photos...it seems like it's probably a very nice car. Will the buyer actually take "reasonable" offers? (more bad pics in ad)
https://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/d/little-river-1937-chevy-business-coupe/7730958089.html
All original 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe with just 41,000 original miles.
Strong 216, 3 speed on the floor and still 6 volt.
One family owned for over eighty five years. Original except for a repaint in the early 2000’s. Interior shows wear but complete.
Never modified except blinkers added for safety. Comes with lots of extras: re-pop skirts with correct trim, recast banjo wheel, extra fog lights, parking break with optional pull handle, spare fuel filters and original dealer repair manual, waterfall dash trim, clock, radio and CA 1937 YOM plates included.
Lots of nice 37-38 coupes around but few with such low original miles or such long ownership. Hard to beat the feeling of pulling up in such an original pipe.
Come see it, REASONABLE offers considered, no help needed to sell.email: d216f28065b23470937bb8b4161c1fb5@sale.craigslist.org

One thing that hasn't been mentioned: FOOD! New Mexican food is not Mexican food. New Mexico is pretty unique in that many families have been there for hundreds of years. A few years ago I met a young man there who's family came from Spain during the Inquisition (they are Jewish).
Different spices and different dishes. Last year we took a cooking class where they talked about the "terroir" of peppers! (look it up...hard to explain.)
Santa Fe was founded approximately the same time in the 1600s as James Town and the other places we normally think of as the beginning of our country. Because New Mexico has remained largely rural and poor, the culture and cuisine has remained mostly intact. Good Eating!

I'm still waiting for a color to come out that doesn't show dirt.
Certainly possible. I used to work for the glass company formerly known as LOF (Libby-Owens-Ford). We made a self cleaning glass, which shed certain types of dirt. Typical application was unban glass canopies. It did need rain to work however, and the chemistry was activated by carbon, so it was great on the soot from diesel exhaust, but didn't work at all on the slat spray from the ocean, or dust from a field.

I'm curious about this running engine! (perhaps when it was parked in 1956?)

1929 Commander Straight 8, needs TLC
Needs a LOT of TLC. L.O.L!
Great project or parts car.
I have had engine running but comes with no carb or dist.
This car needs a full restoration or a parts car.

Is the plumber's tape on the radiator a factory part?
No! Although a period correct one could be made from a discarded herring tin.

But this is a 2 door sedan with a 6 cylinder so I think a fair price would be around 13 grand.
Could be that the "OBO" would get you close to that.....

Yes, and it's a very competitive category!

These are lots of fun and this is a fair price in my opinion. So many quirky features. For instance, the front windows don't "roll down". There is a hole in the glass near the front edge and they pivot around that point to disappear into the door. SAAB became a car manufacturer following WWII when war surplus airplanes killed the market for the ones they were producing. There was a very small group of aircraft designers involved in initial design, and a number of them did not even have a drivers license, so no wonder the car came out a little "unique".
By the way, SAAB still exists as a defense firm, and the US Marines just signed a big contract with them to supply a new system for simulated combat to be used in training.

1939 Packard Super 8 w/inline 8cylinder, suicide doors, all new brakes with stainless brake lines. It was originally a Cali car so it did not come with a heater. My father got a original heater along with a complete new wiring harness that includes heater just needs to be installed. Runs and drives great.

Might not take much to get it back on the road. That modern oil filter is a sign that it was a driver.

The red lights could get you pulled over in PA as only authorized emergency vehicles can have red lights displayed. Given the year of the car it might get overlooked too. If it was my car they would be the first things to go.
I thought perhaps they were really a deep amber in person.

Ad is already gone.
Back in the answering machine days, I put an ad in the paper for someone to watch my kids (I was a single parent).
Apparently I didn't understand the market for such services because I came home from work to find my answering machine maxed out at 100 messages.

When people think of Mercedes-Benz, they typically think of a high-end car brand. The fact is, prior to World War II, 95% of the cars that were sold by MB were for the masses. A fractional number were the big supercharged cars.
Just think about all those Taxis in the 50's and 60s'!
