Still looking , learnt a lesson in last week though after trolling websites decided to make offers on a 54 century and the 55 roadmaster , took to long and missed them both . Therefore I've learnt if if you see something good and you love it ,buy immediately!
also have noticed plenty out there very few without costly flaws.

Dan ,
pleased car running great again and no further hic ups, interesting about the amount of foreigners making the trip , my mate over here planning on doing for his 60 th on a Harley ,and your making me regret not doing it with Ruby before I shipped her over here !
visiting a friend in Arizona Jan 18 perhaps we'll do a couple of days if possible , he has a camero , for me not quite as good as a classic Buick!
great read thanks

Hi guys.
When I say everyday , I actually mean I'm retired so pop to local shops , go out for. Lunch or dinner couple of times a week , keep Ruby for week end cruise ,meets etc. So probably only 20/30 miles a week. Budget wise I'm been following internet an eBay for a couple of months and have seen a few which at first glance appear to nearly fit requirement ,but on further examination have disappointed , saw a particularly nice 2 door. 55 sedan priced right (10.5k)if you discount it needs complete new interior , may be still an option as may try an offer that compensates. I feel a good one should be obtainable below 20k but getting a feel about values from seeing what those being offered are actupally achieving , most fail to reach reserve . Appears to be pretty much a buyers market at present , mind you havent seen a 100% car yet . Those probably never reach eBay and the like as they are snapped up by dealers or friends of owners. That's why I'm trying the forum hoping there's a member who has a lovely car that he or /she wants to go to a good home and will be appreciated.
cheers guys for advice and interest

Have a 53 Buick special convertible , manual , love it but don't want to use every day , so as I love the mid 50s buicks looking for another good condition car with auto , power steering , plus air con if possible , very hot in Cyprus , I will arrange shipping. Don't need 100% car willing to tackle small issues, but paint ,chrome and interior important.

Hi Wooly15
sorry to hike into this thread , but also very interested as have seen a 55 Buick special I like but needs new interior , and would need to take cost into account when making an offer, so waiting to see if anyone can give a guide.
good luck with your restoration , look forward to seeing photos

Good question John
Was 39 degrees at week end here and as my Dad said I have an Irish complexion , dark hair/ fair skin , burn easily ! So sadly top on .
as the saying goes ' only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun' true but some of us cover up.
better this week 34 degrees been out with top down , but wear large hat !
Post again after next trip , but returning to Uk till end of month , family catch up.
cheers

Hi guys
Ruby cruises great drove about 30miles along the coast road , will get a bit more adventurous next outing, going to drive into Famagusta old walled city later this week , will post if I manage to manuouvre Ruby around small streets.
On our trip we stopped for supper and drove back in the dark, put on the headlights but couldn't find main beam. However when I examined car documents found the original Buick owners booklet 63 years old and still good condition , thanks to all previous careful car owners . Brilliant little book explains all controls switches etc. Pleased me car shown on front same colour as mine !
Mind you would never have found headlight floor push switch if was under rubber mating, sorted now.
cheers

Great weather here now for early evening cruise , thought may catch a great sunset into the ocean, but discovered on wrong side of Karpaz , but still very enjoyable had a beer and took a few photos along coast road. Not quite Route 66 though!
managed to get one old building but going to take Ruby to old city next week should be able to get a few interesting ones.
