  1. Removed access panels from front doors (2 total per door) shown in picture below. Just remove screws and pry open. The video will show the other access panel already removed which will give you access to the rear quarter panel nameplates. The video will also explain how to remove the nameplate.
  2. Rear dash panel is next. My hand is touching the flange like strip that is screwed in just behind the top part of the seat. Just remove screws and the panel will slide out forward. In my case, I also had to remove speakers before sliding out the panel.
  3. Removal of rear decorative upper and lower panels. For the upper panel, remove hand crank and screws. The panel should be pulled from top, leaving behind the lower panel. The lower panel only has screws retaining it. Just simply remove.
  4. Started removal of the door decorative panels next. The video explains it all. Just be sure not to damage the plastic washers for all of the hand cranks during removal. Also, these panels are also held in with nails along the periphery of the panel. Pry slowly. I did keep all the nails. You never know. Panel after removal. Be sure to group each hand crank with its own set of hardware and then label.Panel off of car.
  5. Will definitely help look for those parts that you need. Hope you post pictures when finished. Look forward to the new pictures.
  6. Upper portion of front dash was next. When all screws are removed, be sure to pull back on upper dash to remove. Do not force too much, as to be sure not to damage anything. Once the upper dash is pulled out, disconnect the radio light at the connector. Be very careful of sharp edges. For the exception of dislodging the upper dash from rest of dash assembly, this is a pretty easy.
  7. All interior trim would come next starting with the door just beneath the door window. Then the trim just beneath the rear window (part 1). Part 2 of the same piece of trim. Showing the step panels at the door. Just remove all screws and gently pull the panel up.Turning to the rear windshield trim removal. Removal of trim above the side windows. Removal of trim at the front windshield. Please forgive me, but it was getting dark that day and visibility in this video is pretty bad. Once you are left with the front windshield trim (2 pieces), just remove screws and gently pull off. This will then expose screws that hold up sun visors and rear view mirror. Simply remove those screws and remove sun visors and rear view mirror. Showing all trim, rear seat, rear view mirror and sun visors off the car.
  8. So getting back to the process, rear seat is next to be removed. The video below explains it all. Part 2 shows the cut outs that sits just behind the upper portion of the rear seat. The rear seat removed.
  9. The pleasure is all mine. Thank you for your kind words. It is my intent to simplify the restoration process as much as possible. Lord knows I don't have nearly as much knowledge as some as the others, but breaking it down into more digestible pieces will help. I'm so glad you are able to make use of my post. I have more to put up. Take it easy.
  10. There would be no way that I could make that trip. I live too far here in Newport News, VA. Do you know the type of Buick you saw? Did you see any other parts? Need the following: Both 3 groove pulleys Resistor Scoop Assembly (from Century or Special) Need to verify the Clear ducts you saw if they fit a Century/Special. Do you live close by?

  13. Just found this picture on Facebook. A gentleman named Robert Tollenaere sold me the car. He took this picture the day he towed the car to my house and sold it to me. He mentioned in the post that he finally sold his 55 Buick Century and that he felt it was going to a good home. True indeed Mr. Rob!

  15. What does it mean when neither of those numbers aren't on my generator? Mine reads 1102053.
  16. Another question...are there any differences between the A.C. generators from a 55 Buick versus a 56 Buick? Is one better than the other? The only difference I can make out by just looking over them are the fan blade design. Thank you.

  18. Yeah...i actually talked to this guy a couple times already before he posted these items. It's exactly the last of the things I need. These parts come off of a Century which makes the scoops and ducts a perfect fit. But sadly, he is asking something that is just completely unrealistic. What's even worse is that he wouldn't even negotiate with me. Don't know if he will ever sell these items. He still has the same evaporator box on eBay for 700 (shipping not included). It's been on there for months, but still will not adjust the price to something more reasonable. Guy lives in Ohio. I do appreciate looking out for me on these items Matt. Unless this guy has an apipheny, I will have to just be patient.
  19. Here it is...55 Buick Special with AC.Here are those rare 264 3-groove pulleys. Notice the crank pulley is one solid pulley versus the 2 groove and 1 groove mated together with spacer. Also, the water pump pulley is just three 1 groove pulleys mated together with spacers versus the 2 groove and 1 groove pulleys mated together with spacer.This is just for those who might want to know.
  20. Hey Mr. Willie. It's funny that you mentioned that those 3 groove pulleys are so rare. The very first A.C. items I got for my Century came off a man's 55 Special with those very rare pulleys you speak of. I will have to post some pictures.
  21. Okay, so now I have yet another question. As it stands, I still need the 3 groove pulleys for my 55 Century (water pump and crank). Can either of these pulleys used on a 55 be the same on any other year of Buick? What about other GM makes (Chevy, Pontiac, Olds or Cadillac)? Thank you.
  22. Still trying to help my Dad find the owner of his 55 Buick Century. I know this is just a shot in the dark, but does anyone know an owner of this type of car that either lives or lived in New Jersey? Mr. Glenn Danks told me over the phone that the car was sold to gentleman from New Jersey and that when the car was sold, the plates read "Ol Buick". This took place close to the mid year of 1991.
  23. I have all the parts right now, with exception to the water pump & crank pulleys, scoops and air ducts. I actually had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Willie over the phone. Between him and Mr. Lamar, they have taught me a good amount so far. But I know there is more to learn. I have read over Mr. Willie's website. It won't be last and I have it bookmarked on my phone. Right now, I am just trying to get a visual of some of the smaller details of the A.C. system.
  24. Mr. Paul. Those were really good pictures that you just took. Thanks so much. So it looks like the compressor-to-aft braided line has just one bracket right beneath the firewall which looks like it is mounted to the car frame. And it looks like the smaller copper line with sight glass only has one bracket, which is mounted to the passenger side wall of the engine compartment.
