  2. Just sold my model 54 roadster and I already have sellers remorse. Moving on - I have extra parts that I am offering for sale. I believe all are for a '31 model 50 although they may be correct for other models/years as well. I will just list everything and later add prices and more detail if there is any interest in specific items. Any questions/offers call me (9-9 EST) or text me any time at nine zero 8 3 one zero 4 zero 4 five. Condition is good/used for all parts (except as noted). Would prefer to sell as one lot. - 3 speed transmission 553021 w/shift lever 552915 - extra shift lever 552923 - hand brake lever 553036 - water pump 12488765 - parts to convert to right hand drive pedal housing 1242684 steering column 259511 tie rod - LHD steering column 259241 - radiator shroud and shutters - Lever shocks 42346/42347/41104/41103 one of each - Intake manifold 1240120-3 Black powder coated - generator (can't read tag but it appears correct for '31) - hubcaps (23 ranging from pitted to fair condition) - steering wheel - other small drivetrain/suspension parts
  3. Finally got around to removing the oil temp reg and as you suggested there is a small crack on the top cover near where it attaches to the block. I've applied an epoxy compound to the exterior but if that doesn't work, we'll try brazing....Tom Kasper
  4. The top housing seems to be in good shape, but I probably won't get to removing the unit until next week to check it out. Since the previous owner had already bypassed the oil feed, the inner core doesn't serve any purpose. Removing it makes sense if I can keep the original appearance but bypass it internally. Thanks for the help. Tom Kasper
  5. Pete...thanks for the info. It doesn't appear to be leaking at the hose connection but there is a very slight leak coming from the top bolt but it's too little for what ends up on the floor. I guess my next step will be to remove the unit and see if I can find and repair the leak. Glad to hear you have oil cooler parts, I'll get back to you when I figure out the problem. Again, thanks for your reply. Tom Kasper BCA #48478
  6. I recently became custodian of a '31 roadster model 50, which I'm still trying to understand. The car has just developed an antifreeze leak from the oil temperature regulator (by the way, the previous owner had bypassed the oil supply). Two things occurred which may have created this leak: first, in anticipation of colder than normal temperatures here in NJ, I added more antifreeze; and secondly, we had those below zero temps. Prior to this, there wasn't a leak. But before I jump to the conclusion that it is leaking and start ripping it apart, I was wondering if the regulator might be working as designed and releasing coolant if the system has been over filled. However, if it is leaking, does anyone have any tips, warnings, or suggestions before I remove the unit. Also, any thoughts on best way to repair. Hopefully, I've explained my issue and thanks for your help.
