  1. In this photo from Fisher Body's Flint, Michigan Plant we see part of the answer to the question "How in the world did they make those amazing '59 Buick fins?" The process depends on being able to manufacture the very complex lower section of the rear quarter panel. The upper section is then welded to the lower. Further down the line, the seam between the two panels is then filled with lead and metal finished. Skilled craftsmen are obviously essential to produce this industrial work of art.
  2. Now that you mention it you are right. It sure puts out the smoke for anyone following.
  3. I had a similar experience as dei's father. And like dei I can't remember the name of the part but it is used to kick down the tranny into passing gear when you floor it. Part was not expensive and is outside of the tranny, so was easy to replace.
  4. Not sure on this one, but looks like Big Shots are all out of their offices.
  5. Now that you mention it, your right. Probably lots with the ignition not locked as well. The good old days.
  6. Buick Reatta at the Reatta Craft Center in Lansing Michigan. A series of specialized work stations replaced the conventional assembly line. Sometime between 1988 & 1991.
