  2. Does anyone know where to obtain battery cables with ford script for my 1933 ford?
  3. Very good point! You have much wisdom! I knew a guy that has a car with interior dirty and all ripped up..To sit in the car was a nightmare, but he wanted to keep it original. Some things should be restored so that you can at least enjoy your car.
  4. True.. I was trying to save what was already there....But maybe that will always look crummy. Especially if I try to spot paint it and coat with lacquer. Do you think if I want to keep it origin that I should just wax what I already have and live with it? Ford 1934
  5. My dashboard is factory paint over metal.. random areas have paint gone and bare metal showing. Most spots are small than a dime in size. Should I try to touch up the metal areas, of just leave alone. Should I apply a gloss clear coat of some kind to preserve what is left of the original? What experience have you had?
  6. ever tried the plastic trash bag on the wheel to slip the new tire on? I think the whole idea is trash..Maybe Arnold Schwartneger has the strength to slide the tire on the ring, but not me. Am I doing something wrong. I have a thin tgire 4 in thread.

  8. I am thinking of purchasing the HaRBOR Freight Soda Blasting device for use on car parts, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this type of equiptment?
  9. My engine manifold on a 80 year old engine is rust color and I would like to prepare that for painting. Any suggestions.
  10. Looking for the best product to degrease and engine "80 year" in the car in preparation for partial painting. I will basically be painting the head
  11. It is very true that if the original paint surface was properly prepared then it would be totally scratched. It would seem that a mild paint remover if not left on too long may just take the top repaint layer off. But as you said what would the original surface look like?
  12. Is there any known way to remove a 30 year old repaint from a 80 year old auto to reveal the original factory paint? I recall using chemical strippers for wood that seemed to remove one layer of paint at a time. Here we have an 80 year old factory paint job that some people say cannot be removed except by abrasion... Has anyone looked into this???
  13. I want to know if any thing can be done to blend the paint that is faded and also darkened in a small area approx 1 ft. I want to know if rubbing compound can even the shades of paint out. There a several darker patches that I would like to blend into the lighter existing dark blue color. Has anyone solved this problem before.
  14. the pan actually had an inch of particles that looked like sand and scoped out like sand, not greasy or slick as heavy crude oil.
  15. I had no idea that nearly all modern motor oils contain detergent. I am worried because I am preparing to run an 80 year old engine. I am worried that if i use a conventional motor oil with the usual detergent content that it can release any engine deposits and allow them to circulate in the engine and clog something up. I would rather go with a non-detergent oil such as valvoline with added Marvel Mystery oil to slowly work away with any deposits. I have already dropped the oil pan and it was not that dirty. Does anyone have an experience in these areas.....Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  16. Thanks for your comments. I appreciated it.
  17. anyone have any experience with this additive?
  18. Is this recommended for antique cars
  19. It would be nice if someone sold a tire that resembled the originals, sidewalls and thread?
  20. Thanks. Are these firestone blackwalls the right thickness... Someone said that tires for antique vehicles are being produced wider?
  21. where can i get accurate looking and "narrow" tires for my 1933 ford?
