  1. i have this odd heater core..... looks to old....as in from the time most cars had small heater under the dash rather than a core mounted in the cowl.
  2. the joys of figuring out problems related to engine spaghetti has been fond memories for many. in a time where everything under the sun needed to be run off of engine vacuum. and the people of califorina especially loves the vacuum run emission controls when it came time for your cars biannual smog check! so bring forth your wonderful memories and experiences and share them! fun times for everyone!
  3. cool. the sun visors are 40's gm. but how bout the rest?
  4. hi there. i have some mystery parts that i cant figure what there for yet. and i hope theres a few of you that know what some this stuff is for. these came from a collection that was mostly packard and cadillac with some nash and mopar mixed in. as well as some odd ball stuff. 1st is this unique and somewhat robust looking horn. im assuming its delco but theres no markings that i can find. and its unique in that the horn ends are held on with a threaded nut rather than being all one piece. 2nd is this old headlight. due to the pitting it has all over any markings it could of had would be impossible to see. but its rather unique as to how the light bub is held into place. 3rd is a really old but really nice accessory light that i would expect clamped on the windshield. i couldnt find any markings. 4th is these vent bezels. i would assume they are interior and would be like for rear passengers? whats odd is even though they look the same they have to completely different part numbers. 5th is these cool ash trays. the doors open/slide like a roll top desk or a garage door. but no part number that i could see. 6th is this pair of sun visors, then i have a third thats the same pattern but its different but i will get to that next. 7th is the same as the sun visors above but must be for a convertible? the rod on the end slides in and out.
  5. poorly written or not reading carefully? cuz i wrote it just like it happens.
  6. hi there all. i see theres a lack there of in the opel section. we should have a go to thread for all opel owners. mine is a 1973 opel manta that i bought in 2011 with 24,995 miles on the clock! and last month i rolled it over to 30,000 on a fall color cruise. still has 2 original tires. i'm the second owner. have all the original paperwork.
  7. ok but what or how does that prevent them from working during running?
  8. i have an 88 and i have a whole host of weird little problems. and i will do one at a time. the dash lights.... sometimes when you open the door to get in they come on but as soon as you start it they dont come back. and its maybe once every 10 times you get in it that they go on at all until you start the car.
  9. well its nice to know im not the only one with candle powered headlights......
  10. no there 12 volt has 12v stamped on them. they lok just like all other late 50's GM horns. but with the numbers 401 and 402 i cant figure what they went to.
  11. hi there. i got a pair of delco remy type s horns but i cant figure out what they are from.... they are 401 and 402. also they both worked for a few seconds and the stopped as if they got ''stuck'' is there a way to fix that without taking them apart?
  12. and judging by the narrow and simple curve of the bumper reliefs i would assume they are early to mid 30's?
  13. wow thanks that was quick on them! i got a 42 and they dont have them so i was totally lost.
  14. hi there, i have a pair of bumper guards that are quite odd. i would assume they are after market but who knows? they are odd because instead of steel they are made entirely of pot metal or aluminum, even the bracket. the only wording i see is the word ''DURABLE'' casted into them. then i also have a set of these weird cadillac caps that i cant figure what there from. at least im pretty sure there caddy. i thought they were spare tire caps but no luck so far...

  19. hi there i just saved what i think/thought is a 28/29 auburn hearse from becoming scrap. most parts would confirm that its an auburn but some things such as the body lines and 7 lug wheels suggest otherwise..... please help! p.s. its for sale NOTE the 2 extra rims up front seam to be a different size the the ones on the car
