  1. We have had 2 more events to celebrate the Centenary recently ... A truck show at Lancefield, and the annual Chryslers by the Bay in Geelong
  2. One of our members took his 33 roadster to the Australia Day display
  3. That makes more sense ... Mine is not connected and I was told it was to maintain revs as a form of cruise control ... I thought it would be a problem in an emergency
  4. More photos of this event can be seen on Ian Greenlaw`s thread Slow progress but getting there
  5. We have just had our first celebration for the Centenary of Dodge held in the Domain Gardens Melbourne. A celebration for Australia Day.... 26th January This event attracts just over 400 vehicles with a featured marque each year... This year it is Dodge that was the feature. We had 42 Dodges in the main display area with the rest distributed around the gardens. I was also fortunate enough to have my 34 sedan on the book of entrants and the event badge. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD YOUR OWN EVENTS THROUGHT THE YEAR. We have quite a few events featuring Dodges in the coming months but I am sure you guys in the north will warm up and dry out soon.
  6. Great photos Ian ... It was good to see you there on Sunday.. There was a total of 409 cars on the day with 43 Dodges in the featured display ... and how good was it to have the 34 on the book cover and the event badge. Thanks for not including the "Rubbish Bin" shot I still have to turn side ways to get my head through the doorway.... a few more pics
  7. Photos from Chrysler Restorers club S.A of the entrants in the rally https://plus.google.com/photos/112218872443927544854/albums?banner=pwa&gpsrc=pwrd1#photos/112218872443927544854/albums/5933343356848715137
  8. Our tour has drawn to a close ... What a great week ... 165 cars from 1916 to 2013 and 4 1934 Dodges together
  9. Recon it should be the drivers side... as yours is RHD ... up the right hand side
  10. This link will hopefully show all entrants vehicles https://picasaweb.google.com/CRCAVic/NatRallyCars#
  11. The Chrysler Restorers Club is having the National tour here in Victoria ... We have approx. 165 cars here with 36 Dodges 15 of them are in the Dodge Brothers era and there are 4 x 1934 DR Dodges... { just to stir Ian Greenlaw up } . They date from a 1916 tourer to a 1997 Dodge Ram utility ... some beautifully restored cars indeed ..... I will try to post some pics over the next few days
  12. Looks good Tony... Gave mine a run on the week end.. The new tyres feel good and the handling has improved... Bring on the National Rally !!!!!!!!!!
  13. Re Keiser31`s thouht ....It would not make much sense putting 8 more louvers on each side for a lower priced vehicle... more work = more cost My DR has 12 louvers and from what I have noticed, all the Australian built Dodges seem have 12.
  14. Got the left side headlight stand back on and took the Dodge on a club run today ( 115 mile round trip } I will complete the right hand one and then get them both plated ... Great to be back out on the road .... We visited a guy with a great collection of 50`s cars.. Dodges Plymouths .. Buicks ..Caddys an E Type Jag and some neat bikes.
  15. Great that you were able to get pics from pre-restoration.... I tried to back track my Dodge to the owner that had it before the guy I got it from.. Unfortunatly time has eradicated all trace of him
  16. Hi Ian I had the back seat out today, and the Australian cars have wooden uprights with out bracket holes so they must not have used that space for luggage. But I will copy your wooden sections and use the space for tools and etc.
  17. Bronze castings back from the foundry today... 2 sets of stands and a crank hole cover for good measure.. now for some drilling and tapping then off to the platers
  18. Yep Jason ... I have ordered 2 sets... Tony { Tinkeys } wants a set as well...... We will see how they turn out
  19. I have located a pair of stands , however the left hand one has had a repair at some time. I have taken them to a foundry and I am having them re cast in bronze ...... They should be done by the end of next week
  20. I found some interest in the 1934 Maintainance Manual section on the radio, that cars trimmed in leather were more prone to more stubborn interference { Page 80 }... Could this have been because of the heavy metals used in treating the leather during tanning???????????
  21. I am after a left hand headlight stand for a 1934 Dodge ..I washed the car and took it for a run to get fuel and wash it for a show tomorrow 100 miles away ...Luckily it broke when I was almost home and no damage to paint or chrome work on the headlight... I quickly located another stand from a 1934 Plymouth ... painted it black only to find that the ball mount part is to the rear of the stand and not the front. If anyone can help with a left stand or a pair, please message me with a price including postage to Australia. Sadly I will have to attend the Mid-State Mopars at Bendigo in my 2011 Dodge Calibre and not the 34.
  22. I think it translates into the code from " Close Encounters of the Third Kind"
  23. Ian... I just removed my back seat, and mine does not have those wooden panels .. My luggage rack mounts the same... however the hole in the centre of the floor pan has a spiggot sticking out with a thread to attach a central support for a rear spare wheel mount
