  3. Yes Sir, all 12 wood .pokes wheel . The front and back rims are all the same .
  4. For a 1928 Dodge Brothers Senior 4 door. I am looking for a rim. The tyre size on the rim says 600/650 x 19 but the actual measurement is 21 inches diameter from lip to lip and 4 and a 1/4 inches wide from lip to lip. Should be in decent condition. Please reply to hsahu@tcn.net or phone 905 889 0621. I am in Toronto Canada.
  5. My name is Harry and live in Thorn Hill, Ontario Canada. 3 years ago I advertised a Series Land Rover for sale on Kijiji asking price 10000 dollars. I received an email from a prospective buyer apologizing for his late reply because he had to visit some far away sick relative. He would send me a certified cheque for 14000 dollars, that I must cash it and send him 2000 dollars cash through Western Union because he needs the money to pay the shipper to pickup. His name was something like Robert Smith. Those guys are professional scammers. I received lots of them over the years. The grammar is poor and also some bad spelling .Nigerian English. These scammers move and operate from all over the world. I recently came back from vacation in Tobago, West Indies and the locals told me they get them too, mostly the lottery version.
  6. Thank you for stating the size of the rim and tyres . It is too late now because I already bought one from a D.B. club member. Cheers and have a nice day. trini.
  7. Thank you very much for the reply from all the D.B. guys who so willingly are ready to help me find rims .Mr Allan Garonzik from Texas area has arranged to ship me one. I will be away for the winter and will not be able to reply to threads from December 7, 2012. Cheers and have a happy holliday and Christmas Trini, Harry hsahu@tcn.net
  8. Right on, brother, you said it. Trini hsahu@tcn.net
  9. Hello bostonhemi, I am looking for a rim or wheeland rim combination, size 650/ 700 x 19 to fit a 1928 dodge senior. rim is 4 and a 1/4 ins wide but I will do with a 4 ins. wide . I do not know what size your wheels and tyres are. Harry Sahu hsahu@tcn.net.
  10. Hi dcorun .Thank you for the thread. The owners manual I got when I bought the 28 D B Senior shows a picture of a Stromberg UX-3 and gives details of adjustments and states it is the correct carb. Well, I sank $700 bucks for a Stromberg UX-3 ( still needs rebuilding) with the expectation the carb is correct. It will not fit because the mounting bolts on the manifold are too close. It may acomodate a UX-2 or TX-2. I also noticed on the same page below the picture, scrawled with a pen "TX-2, this is what I have" . The engine # on my DB6 is S-51641. I suspect it to be right. The 1928 Victory, bore and stroke is 3 and 3/8 x 3 and and 7/8 ins, calls for Stromberg UX-2 or TX-2. The 28 Senior bore and stroke is 3 and 3/8 x 4 and a 1/2 ins and calls for Stromberg UX-3. I still have to work out the maths on cubic ins on them.Is it 2244 and 2255 ? Maybe some good samaritan can educate me. Jon is absolutely right. I have to do lots of homework on carbs. At this point in time I am not prepared to pay $5000 dollars for a cab. I would rather hot rod it using later models engine and carb. Cheers and have a nice day. trini hsahu@tcn.net.
  11. Hi Steve, I bought a UX_ 3 about 3 weeks ago in beautiful condition but it needs to be rebuilt. ( a kit) It will not fit my 28 Senior because someone switched the manifold in order to fit a readily available carb and used an adapter to fit a Zenith U5. I suspect he had carb issues. The Zenith bolt pattern is in line with the manifold, the reason for the adapter. I believe the UX-2 and TX-2 mounting hole is 2 and 3/4 ins. centre to centre. Check it out. I bought my carb from broadstreet@msn.com He has a UX-2 for sale.( it is the correct one for Victory 6 according my owners manual) I am looking for a Senior manifold.) The bolt pattern for the UX-3 is 2 and 7/8 ins. centre to centre. trini Harry hsahu@tcn.net
  12. I am a new member. Can any one tell me what IS 26007 on the toe board of a 1928 D B means?. And S 51641 on the passenger side above the generato rstamped on the block means ?. What is the correct manifold bore size for this engine ?.
  13. Hi Ron, I recently posted an article on Dodge brothers engines and carburetor I found in a box of litterature given to me by the seller of my car. The DB 6 Victory pistons are stated as 3 and 3/8 x 3 and 7/8. while the DB 28 senior 6 the pistons are 3 and 3/8 by 4 and a 1/4. I suspect what it means is stroke and bore or( bore and stroke). It does no say. Unless I remove the head and measure it then I would know for sure. So it makes sense the ux-2 and Tx-2 is used on DB Victory 6 and engines of the same piston dimensions. It does not state the with of the carb throat. My guess is 1 and a 1/4 ins. The DB senior takes a UX-3 with a 1 and 1/2 ins throat . I just measured it. The engines in the early days the stroke was longer than the wdith of the piston.( long stroke) The X on the carb indicates the mounting bolts are at right angles to the manifold. I am subject to correction. trini @ hsahu@tcn.net
  14. Both 1928 Victory and 1928-29 Standard can use TX-2 or UX-2. because the pistons are the same specs. and same number of cylinders according to the sheet print out Cheers. Trini.
  15. Hi Ron. I found the number for the Senior 6 engine ,it is stamped on the block near the generator( passenger side) It is S51641. I do not know what it means, I figure it may be an engine serial number. The carb throat definitely is 1 and a half inch, bolt pattern at right angles to the manifold. The owner manual states UX-3 is the carb.(no alternative given) The gentleman I bought the car from gave me stack of reprinted sheets with a bit of information on tune ups I suspect he got from the Dodge Brothers club. (Dodge Victory 1928 uses a Stromberg TX-2 or UX-2 Engine( piston size) 3 and 3/8 X by 3 and 7/8. That is the piston size I suspect. Dodge D A 1928 ,Stromberg U-2 (Engine 3 and 3/8 x 3 and 7/8. Here is an interesting piece. 16. I found the accelerator pedal parts locally. I still need a stromberg ux-3 carb rebuidable or rebuilt . I also need the sockets for the headlight , it is pushed in the socket and held with a threaded cap.It has 3 wires. I am looking for a split rim size 650x19, 4 and 1/4 ins wide 6 bolts lug pattern. Thanks for the replies trini hsahu@tcn.net phone 905 889 0621
  17. Hi Ron, I just bought it about 3 weeks ago and have to familiarise myself with it as yet.Looking at the ownership it says Model SP62251. Looking at the Drivers manual it says 241.5 cubic ins,and NACC rating 27.3 horse power, wheelbase 120 ins. The rest of book deals with instruction and maintainance. There is a picture of the wiring, most of the wires are encased in a cable like the housing of a choke cable. The instrument panel shown in the manual is not what is exactly on the car. It is one large oval picture frame with the instruments behind the one glas plate. ,ampmeter, oil gauge, gass gauge, 8 day Waltham clock with a long stem, and speedometer with a long stem. The gas sending unit is duall ,electrical and visuall. The book calls for a Stromberg UX,-3 carb. The presant one is Zenith (U-5 .all brass and needs refurshing has an adapter to bolt onto the manifold) Hydraulic brakes and a 4ins x 4ins master cylinder under the floor. The light switch is on the steering column (looks like a leever from a clarinet) and ignition coil is nearby under the dash wired directly to the ignition switch. Has an aahooga horn by Northwest. Flip up windshield. The oil filter is on the driver side bolted on the block ( a sealed canister with no name brand) The upholstery is luxuriously appointed, wood spoke wheels. The tyre says 650 x19. My 6 year old grand daughter is teaching me how to use the camera and email pictures I shall send you the pics later. There are a few pieces missing from the car. I shall post an add with pics later trini Harry in Toronto Canada
  18. Hi, I am lookingfor the gass pedal rods assembly from the steering box and over to the carburetor on the other side of the engine . The whole assembly or at least what you have for a 1928 DB Senior six . Please reply to trini (Harry) at hsahu@tcn.net. 905 889 0621. Canada,
