Back in the ancient times in the car hobby, the Northern Illinois region of the CCCA published "The Dashboard" with Purple mimeograph or ditto ink. For graphic content, they included a glossy 8X10 photo called "Classic Salon". Here's one with some captioning errors, which you can figure out by clicking on this link that show more pics of this stunning car. Folklore is the original car is lost but replicas exist. https://www.scale143.com/viewtopic.php?t=12428

1932 Minerva written on the back of this photo, looks like the Paris Salon. In person the photo image was obviously airbrushed for publication, I wonder if it shows up in one of the French periodicals of the time. The hood door arms race is here with 7 hood doors, and a hood that covers the cowl. The Packard individual Dietrich customs only had 4 hood doors in '32 and '33, with the hood door count reaching 6 by '34 as part of the cowl-covering hood. '32 Lincoln KB's had 5 hood doors. So is '32 the right year for this photo? Was Dietrich inspired by this? Or is the Minerva photo mis-dated? Weighty issues to ponder!

This old, yellow newspaper was too big to scan, but it's an interesting piece about the opening of Packards In Hollywood, 6660 Sunset Blvd, Douglas Longyear's Packard Dealership. As you'll see if you click on this VERY detailed link, it went on to be WH Collins Packard, and then Howard Buick, and then a mini-mall. https://jhgraham.com/2020/12/13/6660-sunset-longyear-packard-howard-motor-co-buick/ I think the Southern California CCCA magazine "The Sidemount Mirror" published something on this topic also.

This looks to me like the Duesenberg Weymann Tapertail J437. Based on where the photo was found and the Kodak Velox paper, likely taken at some car meet in the 1950's. Auburn maybe? You know, that car probably didn't get much attention, they had to add a big arrow stripe along the body accent line to make it stand out a little more !

Hi everyone - I have experienced the same problem with my 1937 Buick Roadmaster 80 with limousine body by Brewster, breaking an axle shaft. Does anyone have one of these axles available? As has been mentioned on this discussion, it's a one year only part, and only fits the 80 and 90 series cars. It is also unique in using a threaded end to secure it inside the spider gear carrier. Right and left sides are the same.
does anybody have an axle shaft for a 1937 Buick Roadmaster 80 ? If so, please give me a call at 714-401-1047 thanks, Steve Snyder

Both car and lady were stars of stage and screen in their day. The question is, are you a FAN ? Photo taken about 1970 ( '70 Chevy Malibu in the background)
