you may be able to clean them off with lacquer thinner.
Try the lacquer thinner first on a spot like in the trunk. Lacquer thinner will remove some types paint so be careful.

Ed,
You could find space under the stiff for the spare tire like some modern SUV's. There are always pall bearers available to hold the casket while th undertaker changes the tire. Also a good spot for the iced refreshments for the funeral party.
They actually had an ice tray back then under a body to help preserve it on hot days. On the Kingston Vintage tour we went to a carriage collection where they showed us the ice tray under the body position. Yes the owner did own a funeral parlor.

Many years ago, I helped a friend working on his mid1920s Cadillac. The carburetor on those cars is, to put it mildly, rather large. What makes the problem really difficult, is that the carburetor in order to fit under the intake manifold, is rather squat in shape. Finding anything in an updraft large enough to function properly, and low enough in shape to fit in that valley in the engine's 'V', has to be a big problem! At least for my Paige, a typical 'L' head six of the era, there are a lot of potential brass and /or iron carburetors to choose from.
I have seen fellows converting to down draft on their Cadillac after they finish the show circuit. Lots of room on top making it easier to work on and less sorting issues.

If you want new castings you should try Mike Butters 905-372-6926. He works full time by himself so he sees every part going out the door. Yes he does 20s and 30s Cadillac parts and you can ask Jeffry Pierson or Dave Dano about his work. Just to mention a couple of V16 folks that use Mike.

My most memorable ride was years ago as a passenger in a 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S doing some where well over 100. Like siting on the ground eye level with the car tires you are passing.

Heavy rain last night added some driving challenges.
Sounds like the last vintage tour but that time it was during the day. If the boarders were open we would have joined in on this tour Bob. Looks and sounds like your having a blast.

Guess I was too old to spark their interest.
Do not knock yourself out. I know when I was young and single I was not looking for another male to strike up a conversation with.

At least on my early 1930s Plymouth the serial number tag was held on with drive nails. I think that was true for later cars too.
even better

Take the screws out and replace with pop rivets on the id tag.

Years ago I took a 13 T engine to Sandy McTavish for a rebuild. While we were talking his wife took the engine block out of my trunk herself and no she was not a large lady. I was embarrassed about that.
When Sandy passed in 2014 the T world lost a major player in engine building.

I think 1/2 the asking price it would start to get attention, if subject to offers.
I think you are a very generous person.

Sorry for making this confusing for some and using a common short form for the word vernier caliper . Here is what I was referring to as a vernier for those that are confused. A picture is worth a thousand words.
I think I will take a nap now and sign out and also having my 12 to finish and getting on the road.

When it comes to precision tools I have mainly Mitutoyo and have passed some of it on to my son in the past year. I replaced the digital screen on one of the verniers last year at a cost of $95 US. But with shipping & handling from the US the total cost came to over $200 and package would fit in the palm of your hand. So the shipping was expensive but with replacement value of over $700 it was still worth it.

Here is a fellow that must be frustrated looking for a car and running a very different type of car add. Giving a little advise. I have never seen this type of an add in the want-adds.

Do not be fooled thinking the prices on the cars for sale on Ki_i_ are relevant. They are not ! For some reason, people think a car from the 70"s is worth big money. I see lots of JUNK for sale at unbelievably high prices. They do no sell but they are pushing a fake trend to make you believe a 1976 Lincoln boat is worth 10k. I see so many cra_py cars for sale at top dollar which ain't worth 1/3 of asking price. be patient, bring a friend and ask around if a 1982 Prelude junk car is worth 12500 ! No chance. And for the retards that are trying to sell a 70 Cuda for 270000. That is what I am taking about. Dynacorn sells COMPLETE 1970 CHALLENGERs brand new for 25000 ! new, not rebuild. all new SHEET METAL. Buy and put your tags on !

My 1/4 drive ratchet leaver broke so they gave me a new ratchet. The original one had made in USA on it and the replacement did not. Only problem was the ball was missing on the drive so sockets fall off. After having it replaced again I called snap off and asked where it was made and could not tell me.
I wounder if they will mark all their tools made in China???
