Mutt's37Buick

My front bumper was bent upward when I received the car. I'm trying to bent it back to original height. Right now dimension to the center or left bolt is 18.5" and height of center of right bolt is 19.75. 1) Can someone tell me the height of the front bumper on a 1937 Roadmaster when original wheels and tires are on it) Dimension to center of bolt seems easiest to check. (I know the bumper guards are not correct. Have already bought replacements). Thanks

Hi Tom, Thought it may be helpful to you what I found when I took out my window frames. The rear door frames came out just like you described. The front had three spring clips like you described, but the fourth slip was attached by a screw accessed from the side of the door frame. Perhaps your car is missing this screw, or clip which pretty much locked my front door frame in place. The right hand picture shows the location of the four clips, counting from right to left. The left hand picture shows the location of the screw that sheet-metal screws through the side of the door and fits into a clearance hole in the fourth clip. Whether this clip is common to all Roadmasters, or not, it really held my window frame securely. Thanks again for your help. Without your guidance I would not have had a clue how to proceed. Thanks everone for the info. I would tend to agree that Sudan blue may be a little too bright for a large sedan, but that depends on what your going for. It looks very contempory, and would look great on a coupe or hot rod. The color chip I found for for Ottawa Blue looked more green than blue and one manufacterer actually labeled it as Ottawa Green. 1) Was woodgrain like the picture Grandpa attached an option in the 37 Roadmaster? Oddly, I think I can see wood grain beneath where the radio plate was installed, but most of dash was a brown. My dash does have the laced pattern shown on Brian's post, as you can see on left hand picture in post 1 From my car and restored pictures I've seen, the 37 Roadmaster had white and green gauges with red numbers. Not grey like picture Brian posted. 2) Is that correct, or were there different color options?

1) Can anyone tell me what type of silver finish is on a 1937 Buick Roadmaster dash trim. I'm talking about the silver chrome looking grill over the speaker, bezel around the gauge cluster, and vertical trim that divides dash into sections. 2) In order to restore these parts to original look, will they need to be refinished or can they be polished? I'm leaning towards painting my 37 Buick Roadmaster blue. I'm finding conflicting information on original blue colors available for the 1937 Buick. The 1937-1937 Buick site shows of available blue paint as Chancellor Blue, Sudan Blue, and Ottawa Blue. Thanks for your help. You are probably right that this is a speedometer from a '35 Dodge. The speedometer and two of the gauges on my '37 Buick Roadmaster are broken and are beyond my current budget to repair. I have been looking for a round speedometer that I can mount in flat panel for a look similar to a '35- or '40+ Buick Roadmaster. I've been looking for a large round speedometer with at least 5.5 inch ID on Bezel. I was told the speedometer in the picture is a 30's Dodge and has bezel ID of 5.75 inches. This will be a bolt on mod to the car, so if I have the cash later on, I may have the original Buick instrument cluster repaired. If anyone else has a round speedometer with comparable dimensions, I would appreciate the other suggestions. Thanks, Mutt

Is there anyone out there that can tell me the inside diameter of the instrument bezels on 1952 Buick Speedometer and other gauges? (In other words, the diameter of the glass that shows) What years would these gauges be common to? Thanks
