  1. Definitely happier than I was 45 minutes ago. Thanks for the help. -BEPNewt
  2. Saw this in Craigslist. It's not a '64, but he has the Dual Quad right. Running dual quad engine in a car that looks relatively straight, plus another parts car seems like it may be worth the $4500. GS? Non-GS LX block? '64 KX block? Added dual-Quad? Who knows... 1964 Buick Riviera -BEPNewt
  3. When I bought my '64, I was told it didn't have the original engine and that it was replaced with a 401. I've been curious ever since as to what the Nailhead came out of. Thanks to Ed's verification that I was looking in the right place, I have the info I need. It looks like I have a 425, not a 401. It's definitely not the numbers matching block, though. The stamping of the engine code looks a little wonky to me, but what do I know? Should the "K" and "W" be stamped so far away from the numbers or does it look like it's been tampered with? I'm attaching pics of the code and the vin from the engine. Maybe one of you guys has the matching body to my engine, eh? =) -BEPNewt
  4. She is beautiful, Tom. Welcome. -BEPNewt
  5. Welcome to the forums, Rocky! That's 2 Oklahomans in the last week. I kinda like the paint job on your '63 - it's the first 'Riv I've seen like that. My wife would argue that it would be better in Orange and Black instead of Crimson and Cream, though... In fact, she just walked in and I showed it to her. She scowled. Heh. There's a ton of great info here in the forums and some fabulous articles on the ROA site in the members only section: Welcome to the Riviera Owners Association Homepage. -BEPNewt in Broken Arrow
  6. This worked for me, too. I need to let it sit a little longer, though, to test it "for real". Thanks for the info. I still plan on doing the other tests Tom mentioned at the beginning of his post and deciding from there where to go with this. -BEPNewt
  7. Who wants to buy this and let me have the windshield? 1963 1964 Buick Riviera I could use that plastic thing in front of the front turn signal, and ... Anyway, it's there if someone is close and needs parts! I'm 2 hours away so I can't do a visual on it for someone, unfortunately. I wonder how bad the bumpers and other trim are. I wish it were in Tulsa so I could take a gander at it. EDIT: I called the gentleman and the windshield has cracks. Dagnabbit. -BEPNewt
  8. EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize there were 2 pages of posts here and these were answered already. -BEPNewt -------------------------------------------- I believe the SS is Bronze Mist exterior color and I7 is tinted windows. Need some help

I went and looked at a pair of '63s tonight and took my camera in case one was a non-AC car, but they both had factory AC. Sorry I can't help you. -BEPNewt
  10. Thanks for the added info, folks. I appreciate the Pic. If I end up adding a push pump, it will be next year at the earliest. There are other things that are higher on the Prio-List at the moment. The Riv will probably sit for 4-5 days now, so I'll test what you suggest, Tom. -BEPNewt
  11. Great information, Jim. Thanks for taking the time to spell it out. I'll do a search on the web for "electric fuel pump" to see what I can come up with. If anyone has a suggestion as to what one to buy, I'm all ears! Well, and some belly, and an extra chin and... -BEPNewt
  12. It's back up again for me, too. Thanks. -BEPNewt
  13. I needed some info so attempted to go to the ROA site: Welcome to the Riviera Owners Association Homepage. and it's timing out. Is this happening for others, too? It so, who needs to be notified to get it back up, assuming it's not a scheduled maintenance? -BEPNewt
  14. Like a bad forum member, I never came back and posted the results. The method Mario mentioned didn't work for me. It still took a long time to start the first time and then after that, it starts easily. It's still exhibiting the same behavior now, 6+ months later. I'm interested in the Electric Push Pump solution and I have a couple questions about it. 1) Does anyone have link to the correct item I'd need to purchase? 2) How hard of an install is this? -BEP
  15. Welcome, FrostByghte! I'm not sure about your forum handle - if you're down in Altus, then it should be more like HeatExhaustion! It's good to see another Oklahoma resident on the boards, here. The door on my glove box isn't in the best condition, so I'll be watching this thread to see how you make out on a replacement. You should add a signature with what car you have and your real name. This is a first-name basis forum - lots of friendly people here. Also, post a pic as soon as you can; we love pics! Even if it's not ready for a good pic, you should post one so there's a Before and After shot on the board here. Again, welcome. -BEPNewt
  16. Welcome to the fold! There are quite a few posts on here about stock mufflers for the 1st Gens, the ins-and-outs, etc. I don't recall seeing too many about aftermarket exhaust, but I'm relatively new and I bet they've been discussed before. My '64 has a 401 Nailhead transplanted from a '63 or '65 and it doesn't have a stock exhaust. I think it sounds great, for sure. It's not real loud, but it has a nice muscle car sound to it. When I push down that right foot, I definitely know by sound that I have a big-*** powerplant hiding under the hood. I wish I knew more about what exact exhaust system I have, but I don't. You're going to get some suggestions from people on the exhaust and also on joining the Riv Owners Assn. and picking up some digital manuals and service bulletins. I joined and got the CDs and am incredibly glad I did. Someone like you who knows how to "noodle" around with cars will get even more use out of them. Love the "Bread Sled"! -BEPNewt
  17. Isn't that part of the Deluxe Interior option? -BEPNewt
  18. Was someone looking for these not too long ago? http://forums.aaca.org/f117/1963-buick-turbine-bolt-alumnum-wheel-310521.html -BEPNewt
  19. Charles may have read it like I did the first time - as a 454ci engine, not 454 being the count of engines. -BEP
  20. What condition pad are you looking for? -BEPNewt
  21. I had a feeling Ed would come to the rescue after I looked on Google Maps to see where Belton was. The power of Community. -BEPNewt
  22. Not mine. It's about an hour away. 1983 Buick Riviera XXth Anniversary Edition 1983 Buick Riviera XXth Anniversary Edition. Power Convertable Top. Power Windows. Runs Good. 23. This is good information to know if I ever get a repro made from Mike T. I lived in Ponca City and local area for quite a few years and still visit there often. I know some guys in the car business there who know _everyone_ in the car business there and will ask them if they remember Pat Murphy Buick. Side note: The engineer may have worked for CONOCO in Ponca City instead of Phillips. -BEPNewt
  24. Even my wife went "Wow!" when I showed her your '67. She likes it better than my '64! Gorgeous. -BEPNewt
  25. A co-worker spotted this about a mile from my house and asked me about it. What year is this, like a '75? I rarely see any of this body style, are they fairly rare these days? He says it's there in that parking lot quite a bit, so either it's for sale ( I didn't see a sign ) or they work there. -BEPNewt
