Here are some pics of mine. I am looking for the the casting between the carb and the intake manifold. Mine is 7" long, but that might noe be correct because the heat tube openings beteen the intake valve casitng and the exhaust valve casting do not line up. (see pic) My casting numbers are unreadable, but from the Buick master parts list ( in the marvel carb section)it might be something like: 128-533 Damper, main-40, or 146-574 riser assembly,complete-40 Any help would be appreciated. Dwight

Sounds like a no to me. (I had flashbacks of my prom date) Thanks Bob Dwight

Hi All, Do any other of the newer syncronized trans bolt up to my Buick 1930 model 47 sedan? Less a purist than I thought I was, Dwight

Hi all, I'm looking at a pair of fenders that are supposed to be for a 1930 40 series. The sidemount wells are bolted in rather than welded. Is that how they were or was this an aftermarket alteration? Clueless, Dwight

Hi all, With the engine out of my 1930 model 47, I was wondering if any '31 or later sychronized transmissions would bolt up? Dwight

Dwight Romberger replied to Dwight Romberger's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
Mark, I am referring to the casting itself between the intake manifold and the marvel carb. Mine is 7 inches high. I will include a picture of one from a different model/year. I cannot take a picture of mine today. Dwight -
1930 model 40 intake manifold heat riser valve

Greg, Thanks Greg. I checked Bob's. He has new exhaust heat riser valves but not intake heat riser valves. Still looking. Dwight -
Hi all, I need a 1930 model 40 heat riser valve. It is located between the intake manifold and the marvel carburator. Anyone have one they would be willing to part with? Dwight

Neil, Great car! Congratulations. You and your Dad will enjoy restoring this one. The 1930 drives like a dream. Practise double-clutching (non-syncronized trans)and get a pair of side mirrors. (It's hard to back up using that little pocket mirror on the windshield). Dwight

1930 model 47 motor mount question?
Dwight Romberger replied to Dwight Romberger's topic in Buick - Pre War
Ok, that makes sense. I assume it should be snug but not so tight that it restricts turning. Do I soak the lining in oil or anything before I install it? -
Need help. 1930 buick trans.
Dwight Romberger replied to Dwight Romberger's topic in Buick - Pre War
Dave, Concerning the two gears at once. Perhaps my choice of the word "locked" was misleading. Before I got the trans out of gear today, when we pushed it backwards the trans turned as we pushed the car backwards, just like it was in reverse. It would not allow us to pull it forward, back onto the trailer. My assessment was that it was in reverse. I think if it was in two gears the trans would not move at all. Do I understand this properly? If my thinking is incorrrect (not a new thing for me) how would I check to make sure it is not in two gears? Dwight -
Need help. 1930 buick trans.
Dwight Romberger replied to Dwight Romberger's topic in Buick - Pre War
"There is wisdom in the counsel of many." Thanks all for your advice. I jacked up the rear wheels and used a pry bar to move the throwout bearing yoke forward alittle bit. The the trans was immediately freed and the car rolled into the garage! Thanks Dwight:) -
Hi all, I was backing the car off the trailer with the engine removed and the trans when into gear! The car is halfway off the trailer. Any suggestions how to get it out of gear? Sleepless in New Tripoli.

1930 model 47 motor mount question?
Dwight Romberger replied to Dwight Romberger's topic in Buick - Pre War
Stuart, Thanks. I quess that is why I couldn't find any info on the front rubber mount! Duh. I was able to get repro's from Bob's for the rear halves. I hope you are looking forward to Summer more than I am looking forward to Winter. Dwight -
Hi all, I pulled the motor for a rebuild. The rubber part of the front motor mount has deteriorated to nothing. Bob's doesn't have any listing for it. I have noticed ads for revulcaniztion. Is that what I have to have done to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dwight
