My winter project, getting the dash pad restored. Other than Just Dashes, are there sources that have provided quality work, fair prices? It's not a show car, but a nice driver. All recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks! Jerry ROA 8691 BCA 1518 ,

1977 Buick Regal S/R coupe- Seeking Production Figures
bunchabuix posted a topic in Buick - Post War
A friend recently bought this car. He is hoping to determine how many Regals (4AJ57) with the S/R option were produced. The BCA roster show total production figures only: 174,560. Can anyone provide this data? I know that many times, specific options are not broken out. Thanks! -

Help requested to identify an NOS Ring & Pinion Gear set

Ben & '39 buick, thanks for your replies, this has been very helpful. Jerry -
I've acquired this gear set, being told its for a '41 Series 40/50. Probably fits other years, models, & perhaps makes. Here's the numbers: Ring gear:7817 44-10 Pinion: 8817A 44-10P Would some one with reference books kindly identify what years & series these parts will fit, also the ratio? Many Thanks!

As the temp dropped this fall, the P.S unit was noisy until it warmed up, then fine. After discussions with a couple of repair shops, the consensus was a bad P.S pump. I replaced the pump & hi-pressure hose, now its noisy all the time, even after warm-up. I bled the system as per the Chassis manual, ignition off & turn the wheel lockto lock 20 to 40 times, etc. Before I bled, the fluid was clear, no bubbles or foam. After, lotsa bubbles & brownish foam. I did the bleed routine twice, still very noisy. there's no leaks @ the pump, hi & lo pressure hoses & the rack. I believe the pump is faulty; Any comments, suggestions are appreciated.

Sad news. Our sincerest condolences to Libby & his family. I've known Lewis & Libby for many years. Lewis was an inspiration & a wealth of information with regard to the restoration of my '41 56C in the early '90s. He gladly opened his shop & museum in N. Wilkesboro, NC to many car clubs; personally conducting the tours; always having a story about each Buick & Cadillac that we walked past. I fondly recall the '41 Buick "showroom", complete with period banners, desks, & phones! I recall the Ivory Soap '40 Special, sitting in the replicated living room of the contest winner! And speaking of winners, Lewis' Buicks & Cadillacs were the best in the country. At numerous AACA, BCA & CLC National Meets, Lewis would bring not one car, but several cars, all top flite.

Buick Parts STOLEN from My Space @ So. Bend!
bunchabuix replied to bunchabuix's topic in Buick - General
Thanks all for your concerns. I'm still working with Mike Book to identify neighboring vendors, who may have seen something helpful. -
Sat. afternoon, my remaining parts were stolen, as I went to get my vehicle to then pack up. Taken were 1941 parts: Radiator, with a copper overflow tube soldered to the filler; rear bumper, used, fits 50/70; 1955 grille, 40/60, decent, minimal pit ; 1961 water pump, rebuilt, for 401 w/ AC; late 60s-early 70s rear air deflector for station wagon, beige color. This stuff may already be @ the metal scrap yard. My space was behind the Inn @ St Marys, backed up to the highway. the hotel security cameras did not have the correct angle. I filed a police report. Mike Book @ the BCA Nat'l Office was notified. Please be on the look out for these things. Thanks!
