Matt great looking car that appears to have had a good life. The interior would pass for a 50K car.
I agree with the above recommendations ...... flush the brake fluid. Several benefits, removes moisture in fluid that
could rust and corrode brake parts.... that contamination can then damage seals and O rings. Good advice for ANY
vehicle with ABS brakes. Just had it done on my GMC
If you frequent pick n pulls look for the Teves brake systems on other GM cars and pick up some spare parts.
One of Murphys Laws = if you have the part on the shelf, you will never need it.
One unpopular option is to swap to the same year Riviera brake system as a last resort.its the conventional system.as in everything up to 1988.i will when I have to.

i hooked one to the heater hose that it said to use.it seemed to me the water hose water was coming straight back out the radiator clear and not flushing anything.has anyone successfully used this on a reatta?i need to replace the hose because its leaking at the t and wonder if i should put it back in?

just change the brake fluid every couple of years.if the amber antilock brake light comes on just remove the bulb.you don't NEED antilock brakes.mine hasn't worked in years.if the red light comes on don't drive it.

If it's like my 89 you can remove the glove box and get a pretty good view of it.i have the same problem.

it started working again most of the time.it still cuts out going right around curves fast. i can tell when the cruise disengages. something must be loose.

i don't have a garage so i'll look when the weather gets better.
-
it takes several hits of the button to unlock the doors.before i take off the door panels will this be a lubrication problem or should i order new motors?

i realized my cruise wasn't worked either depending on the wrong speed.i could use my phone as a speedo but i need my cruise control.

This is so weird.
Being involved with Reattas for 25 years until this week I have never seen this problem and today, after spending much time in the shop manual, I will be tracing down the same issue in a friends Reatta.
I am guessing you are also getting a B124 code
The VSSs in the transmission do not go bad too often. Do like Ronnie says and look at the BD 60, IF your trouble is always present. Mine is intermittent.
I am also getting an E047 intermittently but don't think the two are related.
I do wonder how the engineers figured out some of these diagnostics as I looked at chart B-7 and they ask if the blower is always on high ( even with the climate control shut off ) and mine is occasionally.
They also ask in chart B2 if the odometer is not displaying correct, mine is, and again how did they simulate these possible situations when writing the manuals.
only codes related to the heater.

Enter diagnostics and then BCM Data. Look at BD60, (Car Speed). Instructions for doing that are on my website.
If BD60 shows the correct speed as you are driving the problem is likely to be your instrument panel is going bad. If BD60 is reading erratically like the speed on the instrument panel the problem is likely a bad vehicle speed sensor on the transmission. The problem could also be the BCM is bad but not too likely to be that if everything else is working correctly.
after finally hitting the right combo of buttons on the touch screen i was able to watch the speed on the computer.its the same as the speedo.only other problem is loss of mix door control.

i get home at dark this time of year so i will have to look at it friday.

it stays at zero for a while and eventually moves up but not accurate.

can anyone point me to instructions on how to troubleshoot the speedo on an 89.i checked ronnies site.i have the shop manual but often its hard to understand.

I don't believe the 124 amp alternator being too small is the problem. If you put a volt meter on the battery to check for voltage does it show the battery is charging? The voltmeter should read about 13.5 volts at the battery when the engine is running. Also, have you done the battery drain test on my website? How To Measure Battery Drain
the alternator is sized to run that plus the ac clutch, cooling fan and other things.your car is running completely off the battery.the alternator isn't charging it for some reason.

my guess? is that the bump maybe broke the filter tube and you aren't getting fluid from the pan.it has to be that or a valve body problem.OR i once saw a torque converter hub snap off on a c4 ford.you could hook a guage and check for fluid pressure.

I would say any of the used Reatta parts sellers would have nice used sill plates complete, Jim Finn or East Coast Reatta Parts come to mind. I would try Jim 1st in this case because Marck seldom checks in on this forum.
plus jims cheaper.
