Reminds me of the old joke ; Do you know why a chicken coop has two doors ?
If it had four it would be a chicken sedan .

there might be a separate part number for the ball cage.

Many years ago I was listening to Click & Clack ,the Tappet brothers. They were having some fun at the expense of Peugeot owners, mostly in regards to them acquiring parts cars to feed their habit.Just a few days later I was making my trip north on I 95, I passed a Peugeot that was towing a trailer with, of course, a parts car on it . The day went on, I got gas , had lunch ,drove further on. What did I see up ahead ? Pulled over ? Sure enough, it was the Peugeot and it looked like the fella was gettin' some parts so he could keep going.
Sometimes we all have to laugh at ourselves.

I like that rule Greg !
Paint and bugs? Reminds me of painting yachts in (outside)Florida. Love bugs love Awlgrip!
Rule : Never paint in a west wind .

Looks similar to Stromberg ,but my booklet is dated 1912.
Have you looked on the backside ( engine side) for any information ,perhaps with a mirror?
My booklet shows the other side with model numbers.

Hi Bernie, I'm glad your eyes are healing,and thankful you continue your posts.Always something of interest.
For your research on the history of your Packard you might contact the Lars Anderson Museum ( Boston,MA.USA). They have the Rod Blood collection,which I understand includes much Packard information.
take care,Ken

Looks like you are doing a fine job.
There are many tutorials on youtube, but I find this fellow's very good;
I know someone from NZ who learned the trade,panel beating,as they say . Seven years apprenticeship!
I like your "always something to do " attitude!
