philipj
I saw the post but was a little apprehensive, since the box was open... Always worry about missing/wrong parts.
MCHinson
Why would you worry about an item with a money back guarantee and a seller with a 100% positive feedback on ebay?
philipj
Maybe I should give it a shot...Also found this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Vulcan-DISTRIBUTOR-BREAKER-PLATE/292652104819?hash=item44236cbc73%3Ag%3A9uUAAOSwWDBbAfov&_sacat=0&_nkw=Vulcan+breaker+plate+assembly+37-52+Buick&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313 If I am reading this correctly it says Buick All 39-52, Model 40 1953. So it should work... Edited July 25, 2018 by philipj (see edit history)
MCHinson
I don't know anything about that item. I also don't know why it would only indicate for Series 40. It might work, or there may be a reason why it does not indicate it is appropriate for a Series 60 like you own.
philipj
Well, it does say Buick all 39-52, so on that alone, I thought it may work... The model 40 appears to be 1953 only. Am I interpreting this correctly?
pont35cpe
`53 40 series was still an inline eight, all other series went to V-8. I`ve never seen or heard of this breaker plate.
philipj
Maybe there is hope... There are a few out there. I like the fact that the upgrade plate is all metal... Note the name Power-Flyte on the instructions...
philipj
Got this installed in my distributor the other day without a hitch... Not as nice as the Dyna-Flyte 800, but still solid metal...Interestingly enough, the instructions tell you to set the points at .018 instead of the factory .015 It runs very smooth still without the vacuum advance hooked up, which I have not received that yet...
