STAYGOLD
Hello, Came across this very large cast solid brass water pump in a box of parts I was sorting through. Wondered if anyone could help tie it to a certain make or model... It does have a part number; "23289" cast into it, as well as the word "TIGHTEN." It measures just over 17" long, not including the rubber section of hose. I would think it might be off a large vehicle from the 1920s, but have no idea what that vehicle would be. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Spinneyhill
It looks like it was driven off the timing chain gear and the back drove something else? The spiral bevel cog perhaps drove the distributor and there would have been a cover around there to contain oil - the grooves would hold a strip of cork gasket? 1912Staver
The rear connection would probably drive a generator or possibly a magneto. That skew gear could drive either an oil pump or a distributor or possibly both. Greg
