Sunnyjay
Hello friends, I just wanted to post a quick update on the car - I've been slowly rebuilding the Bijur oiling system, which had several broken lines, cracked and leaking flare nuts, and major clogs. One of the metering tips was broken off inside the housing (aptly named SOB 5 haha) so I was able to extract it and clean out the housing. I'm not finished, but things are flowing better now, however, I noticed a small crack in the rear axle torque arm. After scraping away a very thick layer of crud, I discovered the crack was actually a complete fracture around the rivets that hold the cast iron bracket in place. I'm cleaning it up now and will take it to a professional for welding. Also, yesterday a friend and I finished rewiring the car, and we're now just waiting on the rebuilt ignition/light combo switch and some connectors to check off "electrical" from the to do list!
wayne sheldon
One must appreciate progress on projects like this! There is a certain satisfaction in undoing nearly a hundred years of neglect and abuse. Thank you for the update.
