JD in CA
I am in process of buying a1939 LZ and live in CA. ThE car is coming from OR. To title it in my name, I will need to show CA DMV a physical inspection of the VIN number. I know Fords of this era had the number stamped on the frame near the driver side firewall, is it the same for this 39 LZ or in a different location? I want the seller to check it for me before I pay. Thank you.
19tom40
Yes, the number should be stamped near the driver's side water pump on the frame rail. It is also stamped on the transmission bell housing just like a Ford.
tom nelson
Also on the frame next to the fuel filler neck.
