On Searchtempest/Autotempest, if you type in Buick

Riviera, 1967-1968, the first one that comes up is a so-called experimental Riv. The pix of the engine bay look authentic but I can't tell if it's a joke or not. Someone who knows the computer biz better than me should download and post.

It's a white Riv with black top

It's an Electric Car Conversion.  Using two DC motors through a four speed manual.  It's real...but just a hobbyist.   Looks like a clean car to continue to convert to Electric.

However, everyone is going with AC motors or Permanent Magnet AC (PMAC) motors.  And yes, Lithium Ion Batteries are a must...but technology is changing quickly.

Note:  Doesn't look to have Air Conditioning or Power Steering.  Will need about 1,000#'s of LiFePO4 batteries to get about 100 miles.

On the cover of a national Mustang magazine this month is a 68 Mustang fastback converted

to electric motor power. Runs the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds. The downside is that the conversion cost

150,000 dollars! The conversion using less powerful electric motors costs about 75,000 dollars if you pay to have it done.
