1941
BEST LINCOLN DRIVING ADVENTURE I'VE EVER HAD I got to meet a lot of people I've only conversed with by phone or internet. The museum complex is like no other. Unfortunately on the return trip I missed the express ferry, so we turned it into a tour of the Michigan side of Lake Michigan. Beautiful weather and scenery - we went over the top to Wisconsin via the Mackinac Bridge. 363 miles to the meet and 640 miles back home. Total hours driving : 20 Total oil consumption -0- I learned a few things (with lots of help from the "gang" that was present):1) the generator on my '41 is INDUSTRIAL ; way too large (thanks Earle Brown)2) my fan belt was too tight (thank you Bruce Sutherland)3) My carburetor settings were way off (Thanks Mssr. Bwatoe)4) Yes, a woman can drive a V125) You can go 4 days straight without putting your top up6) 12-13 MPG is about all you can expect WE HAD A BLAST !!! oldstyle
Sounds like a fun drive. The best part of having an old car is driving them. I can't wait to make a trip like that in mine.
