TG57Roadmaster
The lifelong collections of longtime AACA Members Remy and Betty Baker are being auctioned this weekend in Liberty, SC, between Atlanta & Charlotte off I-85.The SC and NC AACA regions and many other clubs have been visiting this legendary collection, 67 years in the making, housed in an old schoolhouse, for decades. There are brass cars, parts, some fine touring cars, all pre-war, plus enough collectibles, furniture and stuff to fill many man and woman caves. One of the most important cars in the auction is this 1913 Overland Touring. I just learned of this sale, and am sharing the info on behalf of my dear friend Betty. Remy passed away last July. Preston Opportunities is handling the auction. From the Baker Auction catalog. The '13 Touring a few years ago when Remy was in better health.I'll be on hand from Thurs. through Sat. to answer any questions about this imposing automobile. TG57Roadmaster
The Overland hammered at $27,000, plus the 10% buyer's premium for a total of $29,700. The buyer was a local collector.TG
MochetVelo
I left some advance bids on the AuctionZip site, including a couple winning bids (I think). I went there after the sale and saw my bids had been deleted. My guess is there were some internet problems at the sale site, but no one will tell me.Phil
