mdh157
Hello,Can anyone tell me about how much time would normally pass between the date of an engine assembly and the date of the car assembly per the fender tag? I'm looking at a 1964 Chrysler, the tag says it is a 383, the car was built on 0214 according too the tag, but the stamped code on the pad under the distributor says V38-816. That makes it correct for the year (V38) but 816 says the engine was built almost 6 months before the car was assembled. Is this possible?
keiser31
Go to my friend Galen Govier's website here. He will be able to tell you everything about the car as far as the numbers are concerned. Is it a "300"? My book shows that only the 300 got the 383 in 1964. finsruskw
If its a 300K it will/should have a 413 and should be stamped V41 HPThe 300 "Sport" used the 383 and the Newports came equipped with the 361Dave S.
