CBoz
Anyone know if this is original (see attachment)? Black, cork-like, substance.
DizzyDale
Dear Cecil,Can not believe ANY engineer from Ford would make a part that is subjected to heat and fluids out of a material such as CORK.diz
AceCollins
Mine looked almost just like that when we rebuilt my 37. Works fine too.Ace
Rolf
Turning to the trusty parts book, published in 1949 or so, we find H6735B, float assy (oil indicator), 1936-1948, but the B on the parts number usually means there was another version that was previously used, and the one shown replaces it, I mostly worked on later motors, and all I ever saw was the brass ones, interesting to know there was another version, Rolf
