  2. I have one of these rebuilt steering gears (with the new worm) in my 1930 Stutz Speedster. It was about 9 years ago after another shop really messed it up. I drive a lot, and do some higher speed touring events too. This rebuild was recommended to me by a friend who races a Stutz and I can tell you that it was one of the most noticeable improvements I have done to the car. It feels rock solid and turns smooth. I was amazed. It has also never leaked a drop. Carl Jensen
  3. Hello, You are correct that it is a supercharger. For a short answer, both a turbocharger and a supercharger force air into the engine generally for the purpose of making more power. The basic difference is that a supercharger is somehow mechanically driven and a turbo is driven by the flow of exhaust gas through a turbine. Supercharging was previously used on much more high end, high performance cars such as Duesenberg, Stutz, Bentley, Alfa Romeo or Bugatti (as well as a few others), but many would agree that it was Graham who was really first to offer it to more mainstream cars, which they did very successfully.

  13. Thank you for your reply. I do have a D-74 manual and you confirmed what I had thought. I will try to make my repair "in-car", and only remove the transmission if necessary. Thanks again for your insight. Carl
  14. I would like to remove the transmission from my D74. Any suggestions of the process? It appears that I may have to pull the differential back, also believed by another Marmon friend...but wanted to see if anyone has gone through this. From what I can find, it looks like it would be the same as a model 34. Thank you Carl Jensen
  15. I am looking for a cowl vent for a D74. I have measurements that another Marmon owner kindly sent me, but I was hoping to find one before I had one fabricated. Does anyone know if it is the same for any other models? Possibly and E75? Also, I would like to purchase a set of wind wings for our 1925 phaeton. I would be interested in brackets and glass or only the brackets. Please let me know if you have either of these items. Reply to this inquiry or call me at 262-662-0287. Thank you, Carl Jensen

  17. Hi Len, I am sorry but the only manual I have seen or heard of is the owners booklet which you mention you already have. Carl
  18. Hi, There is a manual I have made a copy on a pdf and can print it out and mail it to you. (The file is too large to email me.) Send me your contact info and I will get it out to you this week. Carl
  19. Thanks for the info regarding the Ross box. I would agree that it is therefore not a fit...but quite helpful to know. Yes, we will be bringing our car back home to Indy!
  20. Thanks for your reply. All I really need is the shaft. Do you know if they are the same? The one I have goes in a Gemmer steering gear. I can measure up the shaft this evening.
  21. I am looking for a steering shaft for a Stutz Model M. It may be the same shaft on other cars, I don't know. If you have one, you can reply or call me. Thank you, Carl Jensen Office (262)953-1105 Home (262)662-0287

  23. I have just gone through this on my Model M. 1 1/2" front and 1 3/8" rear is correct. Carl
  24. I believe that this is a 1930 Model M. The Model M actually ran into the beginning of 1930 and the later cars have these wheels. I sure would like to know how it got to India.
  25. I have had good luck with Lester tires and Universal from where we purchased them. I noted that they tend to flat spot a bit when the car sits, but they feel ok after a few miles and have been good touring tires. Also, there is an inquiry and replies on the CCCA "Technical" forum on differnt tires. Carl
