Guest wk's_olds Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I looked for a nice '51 98 for about a dozen years. I would have bought youre in a heartbeat, but I finally found my dream car. It was a bit pricer than yours. Mine has 28,590 actual miles; nearly new.....
RShepherd Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I'm curious about the $150.00 charge for the 3-speed transmission. Since Hydra-Matic Drive was standard, was this an additional charge by the factory or a charge by the dealership to convert the car to synchro-mesh?
Oldsfan Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I don't know why he typed 3-speed transmission on there. Group A was Hydra-Matic Drive and it was a $150 option on all '51 Oldsmobiles, even the 98. Hydra-Matic was standard there for a year or so, but then it reverted to optional status again. Hydra-Matic wouldn't be standard on a 98 again until '56.Paul
