manikmekanik
Okay, all y'all!!We got the ball rollin'!Who's gonna be the next to run with it?When and where will be the next Reatta Retreat? It does'nt require a farm, nor a bonfire, could even be at a public venue, like a park! You won't need years of planning, just post an option, and they'll come to enjoy the company of other Reatta owners/enthusiasts, and their Reattae.Harley-Davidson riders always wave to one another on the road, (I bet thier wrists get tired!), but WE never see one another on the road, so we must organize mini-events to keep in touch and meet. Most other auto-enthusiasts don't associate with each other, considering others to be competition. There are groups of owners in MI, MO, IN, OH, NY, NC/SC, GA, FL, AZ, MN, IA, CA, to name a few. Though each group is separated by a few miles, all love to drive thier Reattae, especially to meet with other Reatta-philes for some commradery and to share experiences with Reattae. A fairly stable bunch, no real security risks.Just post 'yer proposal for a retreat, and check resopnses for interest, release address/phone for location only thru Private messages, or e-mail....just make sure 'yer garage is clean, in case of inclement weather! NYBobP
Hey Randy,When the BCA meet was in Batavia a while back, I invited everyone with a Reatta to my house ( a little north of Syracuse, NY) for lunch, went to a Wed night car show, visited Chuck Parry's Reatta garage, then took everyone to dinner at the Waterfront on Oneida Lake. Only requirement was you had to show up with a Reatta. (Barney Eaton had a dispensation because of his guru status) Had over 30 people including Jim Finn. Really a good time. Would be happy to do it again this summer. So if you want to drive your car that far, I bet EDBSO, JoeyG, ToniVisa and a number of others would come. Not doing it without you, though. You seem to be a great organizer <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
JWC
I say we all get together once again in Lansing Mi. at the Reatta Craft Center the day they start tearing it down, and maybe even walk away with a little piece of where the car was made and maybe even make the news. manikmekanik
FANTASTIC IDEA, JOHN!!!!!!!!!!Lemme know the date(s), and we'll cruise "Black Beauty" accross the pond to attend! It would be great to get even MORE Reattae to show up than for the "Homecoming"! This would be a "Red-Letter" event, a "Reatta-Mecca" style pilgrimage to the site of their birthplace. We should all "MOB" the same nearby motel, and get a news crew out there to document the "Pilgrimage" at the Reatta Craft Centre.April and Ron may be willing to help with details, their "Reatta Homecoming" was a great success!Dare we call it the "Lansing Reatta Pilgrimage"? manikmekanik
Sounds like you hosted the "Reatta Rendezvous" for the Batavia Nats, Bob!(Well beyond our meager means!)This summer? D'ya mean the BCA Regionals? Or the Nats, in Seattle?Midwest Regionals will be in Milwaukee, we'll be there - not sure 'bout the Nats, will YOU be driving there? It's 'bout 2k miles for us, 3k for you, even more for Tony! I bet y'all fly-in! If we go, we'll be goin' TOPLESS! Let's get as may Reattae to Lansing as possible, for the "Pilgrimage"
NYBobP
Hey, Mr. "Meager:....you're the one with a $70,000 Reatta! Sounds like all the action will be closer to you, or further west. At my age I hate to drive very far...you know how us old people are. You (and everybody else) are welcome here this summer, next summer, or any summer. Will have the beer on for you. BobPS What the heck happened to your Reatta convert t-shirt, obviously missing from the picture? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Guest TommyH
if we do decide to have a meet at the mecca, we should try to get permission to be on the property from gm. might make things smoother, you know?
Guest Reatta1
Hey, I'll host one here in Central Oregon if enough of y'all want to drive out here. We got fantastic scenery and a gathering place on the ranch. Any takers? Maybe after the July BCA meet in Seattle?

manikmekanik
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> What the heck happened to your Reatta convert t-shirt, obviously missing from the picture? </div></div> When I say TOPLESS, I ain't kiddin'!!I LOVE the shirt, Bob! Panik wore it just yesterady, to keep the chill off, when we went for a cruise to Lake Geneva in the blistering 70 degree heat. I wore my flame red Reatta polo shirt. It was somewhat "Nippy" to go 100% topless.Too old?!? it's not like you're "pushin' up daisies" yet, Bob! Grab that wheel and take 'er for a long cruise! Or, better yet, get an auto transport to haul all 'yer Reattae to seattle, and fly-in to meet 'em!Unless 'ya wanna come by Milwaukee for the regionals, then drive out to Seattle for the Nats. There's a whole 'nuther world between here and there to discover!Badlands has Mt. Rushmore, SD has the Corn Palace, in Mitchell, Estes Nat. park, in Loveland, CO , and then there's the Tetons in WY, and Yellowstone in MT, then Denali in WA. A picture=perfect cruise for Reattae, especially drop-tops!Sounds like a great route for a "Cannonball Run"!!I call "Bandit"! We'll see if we can find "Smokey" along the way, then LOSE him! manikmekanik
By "groups" , I meant there are a number of Reatta owners in the state/area, not that they have come together, yet. That's what a retreat is all about - getting owners together by regional location. There've gotta be at least a handful of Reattans within, say 100 miles of your location. find a spot, and host a retreat, they'll come. You may even be suprised how far some may drive to gather. The Redwoods Nat. forest may be a good draw for CA, OR, WA and Idaho, and y'all could even drive a line of Reattae thru a redwood tree tunnel! Or do a cruise up/down the coast, Y'all have the best part of the coast, up by Santa Barbara/Menlo park/Mtn. View. Even a cruise thru SanFran would be exhillerating!
