We are restoring a 1928 Pontiac Coach.

In need of production numbers, and any good website or source where we can

get help in restoring this particular model. Also need radiator cap,

factory jack, air cleaner (dry or oil bath??), engine gaskets, clutch plate.

Appreciate anyone steering us in the right direction. Thanks

Beginning serial number 145000 1 July 1927 through 334005 28 June 1928.

First choice for older Pontiac parts would be Kurt Kelsey Pontiac Parts in Iowa Falls, Iowa; second choice would be the Antique Auto Parts Cellar in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.

As far as air cleaners are concerned, the first 2 or 3 months production used a Carter carburetor which probably had a "tomato can" filled with oilable horsehair. The rest of the year used a marvelous Marvel that had no air cleaner, but a flame arrester. The flame arrester resembles half of a bra set off from the carburetor about an inch with the cup pointed away from the carburetor. This would allow the interior of the cup to catch any backfires (a real probability with the marvelous Marvel <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />).
