Guest bdl38s
As an uniformed newer member, and fairly new owner of a 38' special, where would one look to find out info on correctly repainting all the different areas on a car once it's all in pieces? Torque tube, chassis, body( inside and bottom), backing plates, behind the instrument panel etc. It's not in pices yet but hope to start sometime this year. Guest brh
One place to start is the manual used for judging at meets. There will be some "gray" areas which you will need to hash out with other owners and members. But for the most part its a good guide. By the way welcome!!! Mark Shaw
BDL38S, Welcome to the forum! I suggest you join the BCA and the BCA Pre-War Division (PWD)to start getting the Bugle and the PWD newsletters. This forum and the articles in these publications, will soon become your best resources for information, parts and services to help you with your restoration. You will also meet people with similar cars to lend a hand.
Guest imported_Thriller
Here's the PDF of the BCA Judging Manual referred to in another reply. If you haven't already, check out the Pre-War Buick forum...there's a lot of folks who are very knowledgeable on there. There seems to be an overabundance of '38 owners on these forums, so you should be able to get the help you need.
