Hello,

I am new to the forum.I own a 1965 Wildcat that was bought new by my parents. The car was parked in their garage in 1976 during the gas shortage, and has 76,000 miles. The car is a red convertible with bucket seats and a factory four speed. Can anyone give me an idea of how many four speed convertibles were manufactured?.

Thank You

Tom

Your car is great. I know how to send pictures via e-mail, but have yet to figure out how to get it on here.

Will work on it. What are the dragstrip pictures?. That is my other bad habit.

Hi Tom, will you be attending the BCA national show in Bellvue Washington this year? It would be awesome if you could bring the Wildcat. I'm flying in from here... just too many miles to drive.

The dragstrip picture is from the Buick Race Day @ Norwalk Oho- Roberta and friends put on a great race/show/race weekend up there. It is wicked cool, big fun. Someday I'll drag a Nailhead up there <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> Ted

Ted,

This is all new to me. I got the Buick from my mom when my dad passed away in 1992. I thought that the four speed was kind of rare and we were curious as to how many four speeds were made, so a friend reccommended that I subscribe to the Buick Club. I was trying to figure out how to post a picture on here. I think that I got a picture of our 55 chev to show up.If I done it correctly, I will take some pictures of the Wildcat and post them.

PM= private message; I'd have to remember how to do that myself here!

I think if you click on my username it will have the PM feature pop up.

you could send a phone # without broadcasting it to the www.

This site has a photo gallery where you can upload files, then you can link them to your posts. One of the first posts in "me and My Buick" section has the directions for that action.

Tom, I hope you will give serious consideration to Ted's idea to attend the Buick National Meet near Seattle, July 25 - 29. We'd enjoy meeting you and seeing your Wildcat. Please let us know if you need any information regarding the meet, and we'll provide whatever you need.

Tom,

You were able to successfully attach a photo...looking forward to photos of the Wildcat.

If you make it to the National, we'll sort of be heading your way after the meet - going to visit in-laws near Lincoln City, so we'll probably be cutting west at Salem, like we did 3 years ago when we were last out there. We'll have my '66 Wildcat on that trip.

Derek,

We will look into the Seattle trip. If it is the week end of the national drag races, we will probably be there.

If you are East of Eugene on your trip, let me know. We are in Pleasant Hill, at the foot hills of the Cascade Mtn's.

A lot of what we do depends on the racing, and I am in the middle of trying to retire.

Before we take any long trips, I have to do a few things to the Buick. It has a real low geared rear end and it eats up

clutches. My dad didnt understand rear end gearing. Also it still has the forty two year old brakes.

We'll be heading west from Salem to the coast...just south of Lincoln City. I don't expect we'll do much bouncing around once we are there. In 2004, we did a bit of fishing one day south of Newport and we took the kids to the Oregon Coast Aquarium - that was well worth it. If I had more time, I'd like to drive a bit more of the Pacific Coast Highway, but it probably won't be this summer.
