Riley77777
Is an O ring required in the filler tube for a 1954 hydramatic transmission? Thanks for your time.
Guest Joe_Varley
That would be shown in the factory service manual trans section.
rocketraider
I just looked thru my 54 CSM as well as a couple of HydraMatic-specific manuals I have, and I didn't find a drawing of pan and fill tube or a reference to an O-ring. The CSM is vague on the pan- only time I found it mentioned was in transmission removal "remove pan and filler tube". So I'm not really much help here. Oldsfan
I'll dig out my old parts book and look into this. I need to check something for Joe anyway...Paul
Oldsfan
My '63 parts book list one filler pipe o-ring seal - for '56 Model O Hydramatics (2nd type). Same number is also used for '61 thru '63 F-85 Hydramatics. So it looks like your '54 doesn't use one.Paul
