dwollam
Anyone out there done a top on a 24-25 DB coupe or sedan? I am doing a 25 business coupe for my son and have all the wood done but don't know what goes on top of that other than the outer top material. Is there padding and chicken wire like a Model A Ford? Any articles done on tops? Thanks in advance.Dave
Bill Boudway
Hi, We did our '25 sedan a few years ago.Wood framing. We replaced a small piece at the left rear. Then chicken wire and next padding over the chicken wire and wood.Padding and top material available from Restoration Services Supply in Pennsylvania. Please feel free to call or e-mail if you need more info.Good luck!!Bill Boudway(585) 394-6172gnbboudway@msn.com
dwollam
Thanks! I was told the same thing by a local DB buddy. I was not sure if Dodges used the chicken wire.Dave
Jan Arnett
Dave: All most all cars of that vintage used that method. I usually just order Model A top material it is the same and usualy you can get a kit from one of the Model A suppliers which contains every thing you need.
Guest
I did the top on my 27 DB 124, 29 Pontiac 629, 29 Model-A Coupe and 30 Model-A Coupe using Hampton Coach. They were fantastic ! All of them had chicken wire (as mentioned above).http://www.hamptoncoach.com/1-888-388-8726Thanks,David1927 T-Bucket1927 Dodge Brothers 1241929 Pontiac 6291929 Model-A1930 Model-A
