jacksprat Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I just did some work on my T and I have a steady stream of oil coming from the bendix cover when the engine is running. I did not work in that area. I repared the generator and radiator. Any ideas? I haven't pulled the cover or the starter yet but why a leak when we have a splash oil system?
Layden B Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Your leak is just coincidence! The 4 screws on the cover are notorious for coming loose, use lock washers under them. Remember that the Model T flywheel runs in motor oil and throws it in a big circle, it is only a small part of that stream that falls into the oil tube on the back of the block and travels forward to the rest of the engine.
jacksprat Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Thanks, I will check it out. i am still learning my way around these cars.
