Captain Harley
I'm interested in the Model 526 6-cylinder Packards and was wondering. If anybody can point me to awebsite, book, etc. that would have a lot of information contained in it about the cars. I'm not interested in joining any Packard clubs right yet. Thanks in advance, Bob
Guest imported_Speedster
Are you more interested in the Technical Specs of the car and engine, looking for info on body designs, or something different? If looking for Specs, a copy of Owners manual is a good place to start. A '26 or '27 manual would be very similar also. A Parts manual gives good info on differences in body designs, as to which parts were used for the different bodies. A Service manual gives good info on electrical and mechanical systems. With those 3 books you get most of the Info that is available in printed form. As far as I know there are No websites with good Free Info on pre-war cars (some sell the books). The sites listed in 'Participating Clubs' Links List are probably the best available. Guest imported_Speedster
You Don't have to join the Clubs, to download the Info on their websites. There are some electrical schematics, paint color list, etc. available for download. And one thing that has been very helpful for me, is the pictures of other cars.
Captain Harley
Speedster & jrbartlet,Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to give a better explanation of what I'm looking for. Didn'tHemmings have (or still has) a sister old car publication that compared two same year cars. They didtechnical, performance, style, etc. comparisons. I guess that is what I'm looking for in a 526 modelPackard. But just the info about the Packard and not how it compares to another brand of car. I guess I need to talk or "chat" with someone who owns one. Thanks again, Bob

You could call them to see if they have a back issue with '26 to '28 Packard, but I don't remember one.Subscribtion Link:http://www.hemmings.com/subscribe/trial.html?ctry_cde=USA&pub=HCC&source=SUBPGE3

Or maybe check out their website and see what it has. "Ask The Man Who Ownes One", any 526 or 533 model Packard owners on board?
